By Diane N. Klammer -

It is difficult to create a theme issue, however loosely defined, among such diversity of voices, when the theme was not requested during the submission process.
Jordon lost his 20 year old sister in the middle of the editing process of Monkey Puzzle 7, which he acknowledged on both the front introduction and the back memorial. He was able to weave tales of love and loss into this issue throughout. From Junior Burke's "Dinner Plans" at the beginning to Rea Allen's "A Dusting of Memories" at the end, this issue showcases such stories of memory and loss, stories not sentimental but deeply honest and deeply spiritual. The collection selected for this issue shows the talent and vision of editor and the writers alike. "the gift of the dark door is a flowering tree...we need more space to die in.our budda nature, snow on a gray afternoon. always thirsty. From "The Gift" by Kim Nuzzo. Monkey Puzzle 7 is a gift indeed.
