I have yet to read many books by this metaphysical author, though I have written and reviewed a lot of metaphysical books on the topics included in this 2-in-1 bundle. The author makes some bold claims in the introduction of the first book on awakening the third eye that she doesn't follow through on, even in the very first chapter (and the rest of the book)! She promises that the book won't be filled with a bunch of difficult vocabulary or foreign words, yet even the very first chapter has a variety of medical and metaphysical terms that someone new to this topic would probably struggle with! After the bold claim, I literally rolled my eyes as I read through the early chapters of the first book. I have extensive knowledge of metaphysics and medicine (as a nurse), and oh, my! I pity the reader who doesn't come to this book without a fair amount of pre-knowledge of body, mind, and spirit terms and concepts. Some phrasing and terminology, too, don't sit right with me, like when the author describes the third eye as an “extra appendage to your regular eyes.” I’m a very visual reader, and that image is creepy! In this first book, too, she has a list of 50ish complex metaphysical questions you should answer before working with your third eye…and you’re supposed to be able to do so in 15 minutes!! This book also spends way too much time on chakra generalities—including how to balance each one!!—not focusing on the third-eye chakra as much as she should. So much of this book is not about the third eye but other tangential metaphysical topics like meditation, breathwork, and yoga.
I held out more hope for the second book in the bundle, as a quick look at the table of contents suggested it at least stayed on topic. However, this book disappointed me as well for different reasons. Much of it reads like somebody's research paper (i.e., dry, academic-sounding, not conversational) on lucid dreaming, pulling together and organizing a bunch of other people's takes on the topic. For as much as it sounds like a research paper, a quick look at the references reveals little in the way of academic studies and instead focuses on other popular books on the topic. The author does actually talk about quite a few research studies—vaguely and explicitly—throughout the book, so I would have loved to have seen the actual references to back up her claims. The book also uses a lot of complex terminology that the average reader who simply wants to understand lucid dreaming to better tap into its benefits may not easily understand.
All in all, I was not impressed by these two books. The metaphysical space is filled with books on these topics, and I suggest you find better written and referenced books to guide you on your journey.
I received a free digital copy of this bundle, but that did not affect my review.
