The deadliest terror attacks in American history are triggered by a mysterious e-mail from "God", and the government blames a fanatical group of apocalyptic Christians.
FBI Agent Joe Unes reluctantly teams with reclusive Internet radio host Barney Ison from Sharon K. Gilbert's "The Armageddon Strain" to expose the plot -- and discovers that he's not contending with flesh and blood.
Derek P. Gilbert hosts SkyWatchTV and co-hosts SciFriday, a weekly television program that looks at science news with his wife, author and analyst Sharon K. Gilbert. He’s been interviewing guests for his podcast, A View from the Bunker, since 2009.
Derek is a Christian, a husband and father, and the author of the groundbreaking books The Great Inception and Last Clash of the Titans.
He’s also the co-author with Josh Peck of a book about the occult origins of the modern UFO phenomenon, The Day the Earth Stands Still. Derek’s forthcoming book, Bad Moon Rising (fall 2019), analyzes the spiritual forces behind Islam.
Derek is a popular speaker at churches and conferences in recent years on topics such as Dominion theology, Transhumanism, and his mind-blowing research connecting the ancient Canaanites to the Nephilim, the Watchers of the Bible, and the old gods of the Greek pantheon, the Titans.
Derek is a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs, prefers glasses to contacts, and he’s been known to sing the high part in barbershop and gospel quartets.
The God Conspiracy is a good tale, well written, and has some really great plot twists. While reading it I couldn't help but compare the plot to the movie "The Ring". I really didn't like the ring(hate is a better word), but I still give The God Conspiracy 3 stars(would have been 4 but I couldn't get over the killer email thing).
If you even somewhat enjoyed the ring movie, then you will be heads over heels in love with this story. If you hated the ring(like I do), you will still find this tale entertaining and should be placed on your reading list. Seriously, go get a copy, or if your skeptical download it from podiobooks for free.
Meh. Did not care much for this one. While the premise was interesting, it never delved into the killer hypnotic virus thing. Then it abruptly changes to terrorism. Then suspension of rights. Then I thought it was going to be a God book. Never really hit the ground in my opinion.
Great thriller that is eerily similar to what is happening today. I got chills as I read about the "vaccine" for the flu. The "vaccine" is saline with a nanochip that can send and receive data controlling the person's body, specifically the proteins in the cells that replicate viruses (like mRNA), mimicing symptoms of an actual virus. Once given those people are controllable. Thousands of Christians and other citzens are kidnapped by unknown men in black, labeled as terrorists, and placed in camps around the USA. When people are shipped in to give them the "vaccine", they protest and another force is called in. The world is in chaos. Can those fighting for good overcome evil?

There are several characters in this book and each one has a story which interconnects to the next. The pacing is quick as the plot covers government control, murder, prison camps and more. I learned a few things about history, specifically US history, which were eye opening and possibly predictions for America in light of laws we currently have in place when faced with a national emergency. A little faith and some good scriptures were used throughout and several characters were great examples of what a Christian can and should be. Worth your time, if only for some references to Month Python and Game of Thrones.
I picked up this book being ever interested in the knowledge Derek Gilbert carries about things biblical; I loved the story so much more than I even expected to!!! Filled with action right along side biblical tidbits and real life, I hungrily devoured and searched out the next in the series! I highly recommend this book as it is filled with adventure! Well done!
This book was so interesting and exciting. Both Derek and his Wife Sharon are very prophet people and love the Lord in everything they believe in. The book started off slow and then it picked up fast and it drew me in and I couldn't put the book down. I love reading books on the end times. I recommend this book who believes in God or how have a interest in know that we fight in the supernatural and on our knees in prayer..... There is evil in this world....
This was such an amazing book. The author keeps your attention. It’s suspenseful and interesting. I’ve read a few books by this author and this one is by far the best. He’s very knowledgeable about the history of the supernatural realm and he ties it together nicely with the physical. Highly recommended read.
Solid book. Christian movies and fiction so often are over ridden with feel good cringe to make them tough to enjoy. The characters felt real and genuine (for the most part) and the threats felt impending. I really liked it:)
Well written and fast paced. I read it in a single day. Mr. Gilbert has a wonderful way of weaving suspense with Christian theology, and a great nod to his wife's Redwing series.
Interesting read. Kind of jumpy and hard to follow at times. Might be because I was reading on a tablet. This book’s plot makes you go hmmm? Could that happen? Is it happening? If you like conspiracy based stories, I think you might like this one.
Decent story about government overreach and a mysterious email from GOD. I only made it to about half way through because my audio edition would take me back to the beginning everytime I start the book again. Also, the annoying music shifting from chapter to chapter got on my nerves.
This tale is exciting and informative. It's an interesting story and the characters are believable and, as always, Derek has provided another excellent book.
I listened to this on audio, read by the author... And, well... I wanted to like this book, I really did. I love his concept, but the execution just sort of fell flat.
As a former Christian turned Atheist, I don't mind hearing stories based around religion by any means, but there were some points where listening to this book truly felt like I was sitting through a sermon at church and I don't think it added anything to the story other than pandering to Christians.
The story itself started off really strong with a believable setting and decent characters, and it just went downhill from that point forward, becoming more and more ridiculous around each twist or turn.
I'm really bummed I was so let down by this story, but I'd still be willing to try some others by the author in the future and give him a chance at redemption.
11/12/2009 - finished listening. good book overall, well paced, liked the characters... I didn't like the end as much as I could've. I didn't like the physical representation of Malthius to Thiel. (spelling may be off) It would've been better to me if it was more ambiguous.
so far so good, typical conspiracy theory novel. I'm listening to the audiobook I downloaded from podiobooks.com. The author does a great job of reading the story himself.
Interesting take on politics, the inner workings, how vulnerable our country is to outside forces. The way our country works always astounds me. It's like a giant game of Jenga. If you remove one piece, corporate money, the whole thing could fall. Anyway, good book especially on audio. Very entertaining and compelling.
