Showing how traditional ideas surrounding leadership have been captured by narrow interests and corporate templates, this investigation tackles fundamental questions about leadership head on. The chapters challenge leadership assumptions and myths, exploring an approach to leading that is truly liberating for both leaders and those around them. Drawing on a wide set of social ideas from Eastern philosophies to personal encounters with exceptional leaders, this is a must-have for anyone who is looking for an alternative way to lead.
The author of this book tries to breakdown stereotypes about leadership, but in doing so- writes her own disillusioned definition reinforcing a separate set of leadership “expectations.”
The most thought provoking part of the entire book was the attempt to marry Eastern spirituality and ideology with Western definitions of leadership. The introduction to thought was nice, although the depth this mention made me crave was lacking.
An excellent and comprehensive examination of 'leadership' by Amanda Sinclair that offers a clear and simple method for anyone who wants to be a better and effective leader. Expect an academic voice and approach to the text.
