Rate this book
Olivia’s world is turned upside down when she learns she is a unique being and is just one of many such beings that walk the earth unbeknownst to humans. Besides being pursued by two sexy vampires, it seems she is a hot commodity. A group of fanatics named the Guardians want to use her abilities to purify the earth of the evolved species. Olivia is forced to flee with an incredibly sexy Italian vampire who teaches her all about her ability to feel passion more intensely than a normal human.

Their journey takes them across the Pine Barrens of New Jersey where they meet a legendary creature who has a surprising story, to the shores of Lake Ontario where ancient Native American legends come to life. Through all this Olivia struggles with her new found abilities and her attraction to two vampires who both make her sizzle.

I have always had a great love for what people today call paranormal but growing up we just called scary. Raised on Bram Stokers Dracula and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein I knew from an early age I wanted to give people goose bumps. Combine that with my love of romance and I began writing stories I wanted to read.
I live in Eastern Pennsylvania and love the East Coast.

I really enjoyed this book. It moves at a great pace, has engaging characters and hot vampire lovin. I love Alex and I'm pissed at Roberto, so who gets the girl? I'll have to read the next book in the series to find out.
Highly recommend this book.

I ordered Scent of a Vampire By Jude Stephens after hearing the book mentioned on some of the Amazon Forums for new authors. I have been very satisfied with many of the books mentioned there and had no problem placing my order.

I will try and write this WITH NO SPOILERS, because I would do a great dis-service to you and the author if I gave away too much. The book opens with two best friends getting away . Olivia is going to be 30. She is an introvert, shy and has really bad self esteem issues due to a very short marriage that left her feeling "not special". On the other hand her best friend Janel, who is beautiful and has always been the "star" wants Olivia to go away and really let her hair down, hence the trip to Atlantic City.

While checking into the hotel our girls meet two Very Hot men, Roberto and Alexander. Both are very interested in Olivia and she is questioning their sanity because Janel is being ignored. Olivia has very little experience sexually and her world will now explode with these 2 wonderful men wanting her.

We then learn thru the storyline that opens from here that both Roberto and Alex are Vampires and Olivia is the Sensay that has been destined to have been born, her powers said to emerge at 30 years old. We also learn of the Guardians who are not so happy that other world figures live and that the Sensay is coming into her own.So the struggle begins.

Our author takes us on a ride of sexual tension, mystery, friendship, and action. The characters are well formed and the story is fast paced.

Olivia learns of her past, her heritage and works on coming to grips with it and the new powers she is learning about....She has such a lightheartedness breaking out into song whenever something happens that just made me laugh out loud during some of her outbursts....

Along the way we meet some wonderful characters: Leeds, Christoforo, Andy and Mark
who I hope we will meet AGAIN in a sequel...I can see many more books to this story Ms Stephens...How about it??? Looking foward to book 2,3,???

This book made me laugh out loud. Jude Stephens vampires and other paranormal creatures are the result of evolution. We have heard that one before so nothing new there. What is new is the spin on the heroine, Olivia. She is a Sensay. We don't really learn much about it other than she is a being that will have great power in the form of heightened senses and God knows what else. Her origins are in a vague Native American legend. This book is about her coming into some of her abilities while believing she is still human.

Olivia is interesting but its the supporting cast that make this book so enjoyable. There is Roberto, vamp, and Olivia's primary lover. There is Alex, super sexy vamp, and the other guy she loves. There is her best friend Janel. Then there is the NJ devil, Leeds. God he was a hoot. Those are just a few of the characters that stood out for me. There are plenty more.

Olivia is torn by her love for the two vamps as well as her need to discover and control what she is. There are bad guys, of course, trying to recruit her one minute and kill her the next. So that was not new. What was new for me was the inability to know if Roberto or Alex is the right choice for Olivia. Personally, they both have plenty to offer her in a relationship. That question was never resolved for me or by the conclusion of the story.

In the end, my rating is based on the Jude Stephens ability to make me care for these characters, warts and all. For a change, nobody got on my nerves doing stupid stuff in every other scene. I will warn you now, there is lots of sex but it is not a distraction. You can skip it and still really enjoy the story. I did subtract a star from the rating because of the cliffhanger. I can't help it. They annoy me.

Olivia (true name Orenda) is a divorced physical therapist going on a long weekend trip with her best friend Janel to Atlantic City. She has self esteem issues due to her prior marriage. She has recently started noticing she has a "curse". She can tell there is a musky scent associated with death.
When they get to the hotel she notices two sexy men. She gets invited by Alex to his hotel and is accompanied to it by Roberto, an Italian vampire. The hotel is attacked and both men are there to protect her.
Both vampires know she is a Sensay. Olivia will get more powers after she turns thirty. Better vision, hearing, etc. Since she is able to smell death she notices both men have this scent and they convince her they are vampires.
At the beginning of the story it looks like she is falling for Alex. Once Alex goes missing, she starts a relationship with Roberto.
The enemies of supernatural beings are the Guardians, who at first tried to recruit her then they try to kill her.
We meet second characters, one specially is very likable. His name is Leeds and he is a devil.
Olivia is from a Native American descent. Her spirit guide presents as a wolf.
I finished this book and I enjoyed some parts of it. However, some parts were redundant. At the end of the book, you don't know if she picked the right guy to stay with.

I thought this story was fantastic! I loved that it was the typical vampire/human romance. Of course you have to stick with the classics of the men being utterly breathtaking. There are some things you just don't want to mess with.
The dynamic with the characters was really well written and it opened up the possibility for lots of different relationships to evolve.
My heart is torn with having to choose sides. Roberto and Alex are so different and yet they are both so magnetizing that you cant help but be drawn to both of them.
Olivia is not your typical heroine and I really enjoyed that while reading. She changes as she grows and as a reader you realize you are respecting her more and more.
This book makes you want to laugh, cry, hit someone, and devour a hot man all throughout the story. I cant wait to.see whet lies in store for everyone!!!

I was truely held captive by this intriguing Vampire Romance. Here you have two hot and sexy Vampires- Roberto and Alex, and a young sexy woman (Olivia) who has the ability as a Sensay. The characters in this book are both intriguing and totally likeable. One of the things about a sensay is the tantilizing touch. It is like a heighten sense. As the book goes on, Olivia comes into more of ther powers. She falls deeply in love with Roberto; he is so charming, loving, and old fashioned. Alex also is in love with Olivia from the first kiss to the first bite. Which man is the right one for Olivia- Roberto or Alex? You have to read this book, you will not be able to put this book down. I finished it in 2 days, but found it EXTREMELY hard to put it down. If I could, I would give this book 9 *********. AWESOME!!!!!

I've read this book 2 times already, but I've just gone through 2 books that were boring so I picked this up again.
This first book in the Evloved Series introduces you to Orenda, Janel, Alex and Roberto. I love Judes writing...lots of humor, sex, intrigue...I could go on and on. Also Leeds is in this book, a human man/ dragon who is hysterical, I'm waiting for his book still!!!
I'm sure anyone who picks up this book will have trouble putting it down.
I'll go on to read the 2nd book Touch of a Vampire, they really could be 1 long novel, it picks up right where Scent ends and gives you a "finished" feeling to Orenda's story.

Very spicy! I love the crazy attraction between Olivia and Roberto, but I'm kinda sad she didn't really hook up with Alex. He DID have first dibs!! And where can I get a best friend to drag me to Atlantic city??? :) I look forward to the next book. I really want to see what happens with the hottie that can fly. I was able to read this book in one sitting because it was constantly moving forward and kept my interest.

Yeah.. It took me WAY to much effort to finish this book! It was rushed and if I heard "love you" one more time I was going to rip my eyes out! The scenes didn't flow and the bonds were unbelievable. I liked some of the humor and I really liked what little of Alex was in the book. I might read the following sequels but only due to my ocd and the hope that it gets better. sigh.

I am still reading this book but I have to say that so far I am loving it. It is not a genre that I normally read but the characters are so entertaining that I am compelled by them. I will let you know more when I finish but so far I'm hooked!

This book was just OK. I didn't get into this book very much. I wanted to like it, I really did. I am a fan of vampire lit typically. But this book read like a cheap romance novel. It was very predictable and lacked a strong plot. In many places it dragged.

I liked this book, I hope that Jude Stephens writes another because I need to know if Olivia gets unbonded from Alex so that her and Roberto can bond.

A great concept for a story, but i found the main character so annoying. It was quite repetitive in places too. I did read the whole thing though, so it did keep my interest.

I really wanted to like this book, but it fell short on so many counts. The heroin, was winy, week, and just annoying. Won't be reading the rest in the series.
