Growing up in North West England and in Germany, Anna wrote plays about talking animals, and stories about naughty children, and drew on every available surface. After school, she did an Art Foundation course, then a degree in German Literature & Philosophy at Oxford University. I think this children's book must have been inspired by Irving Berlin's 1932 song How Deep Is the Ocean (How High Is the Sky) -

How far would I travel
Just to be where you are
How far is the journey
From here to a star
And if I ever lost you
How much would I cry
How deep is the ocean
How high is the sky

RO: Cat de sus este cerul?

Micul meu cititor o fi el mic, dar curiozitatea sa e mare. Iar aceasta carte (serie de fapt) i se potriveste perfect. A primit-o de la matusica Danuta, care l-a alintat de-a lungul vremii cu nenumarate carti frumos colorate, dar asta e una dintre cele mai ginagse cu siguranta.

Exploratorul Pipkin descopera tainele zborului si ale inaltului cerului alaturi de cateva personaje la fel de simpatice. Imi place dragalasenia pinguninului, si politetea sa, si mai ales curiozitatea de care da dovada. Imi place cat de frumos deschide noi dezbateri aceasta carte. Imi place cat de frumoase sunt ilustratiile, cat de simple dar pline de inteles sunt textele, imi place posterul informativ de la sfarsit (care ma temeam ca va deveni “mai multe”, dar nu a fost asa. phew!).

Ce sa mai, o recomand cu cea mai mare caldura!

Anyone else have David Tennant read it to them? I stumbled upon this gem whilst looking through someone's Pinterest board. How high is the sky is an adorable little story about a penguin wanting to know the answer to how high the sky really is. He travels so high up he realizes the sky is limitless. So the next time someone says the sky is the limit, what they're really saying is that there is no limit.

The little penguin, Pipkin i a curious penguin. He wants to know how high the sky is, how deep the ocean is, does the sun go to bed at night. He travels to outerspace to get a good look at how high everything is...and then he realized just how far away he was..from home, his igloo and a nice warm bed.
Nice enclosure at the end of the book!
