At the beginning of the day, Jim and Paul are almost best friends -- and after a series of mix-ups, almost enemies! Then, together, they see an emergency in the classroom, and they band together to set it right...like the best friends they really are.
Listen folks, this story may seem sort of over simplistic or uninteresting to an adult, but it's true to life for a child. I like the fact that this story explores the dynamics and realistic situations rarely seen in children's literature. I love imaginative books. I love ridiculous, over the top stories with bright colors and unbelievable characters. I like those elements in the stories I read as an adult. Sometimes. But it's also nice to read something down to earth - relatable. Now I don't typically read relatable stories, but I like to change it up sometimes. Kids do too. This book was a nice change.
Quite a simple but effective book. This book wasn’t as creative or imaginative as other picture books but it is effective in teaching kids a lesson in their school environment. This will likely be boring for adults.
So it's old and wouldn't appeal to a group. But this book captures the day-to-day fickleness of preschoolers as they learn social skills. The girls could relate--although they enjoyed the book, this isn't one that would be on their "top favorites" list.
Best friends is a great short story. When you think about the message behind the story it is so true! The two young boys becoming best friends again at the end of the story after an argument. This story could be used to help friends over come an argument.
I liked this book about the confusion of friendship for the younger set.(Are you my best friend or not?) It can be confusing for the older set as well;)
