I borrowed this book from my brother. I don't want to lose my Spanish, especially since I may be learning a new language come fall. This is just a textbook-like collection/anthology of short stories written in Spanish by well-known Spanish authors. I hope it will help preserve my Spanish.

Unlike almost every other book on Spanish literature/composition, this book actually assumes that the reader already knows Spanish. That is, instead of bogging me down with nonsense about prepositions and prepositions, the book actually treated me like a serious student and focused 100% on literary theory. There are 4 sections - novels, poems, drama, and essays - and each included a 30 to 50 page introduction on the major literary elements, history, and framework for reading. If you feel confident enough to read real Spanish literature and dive into literary analysis, choose this book.

This was my first textbook that was almost entirely in Spanish. I thought the content was pretty good and the information was thorough. It was a big help for my class. There were several good readings in there as well. The layout wasn’t my favorite. For a textbook it was fine.

A pretty good selection here. La casa de Bernarda Alba wasn't quite to my liking, but the short stories are intriguing.

I needed it for my Spanish literature class. I am not a fan of literature, though I like to read. It served its purpose for the class.
