If the truth is to be told, this book doesn’t fall into my usual reads.

The book was handed to me by a relative as a general interest kind of read, as something she thought I might enjoy. It was interesting, I will say that, but I cannot see myself going out of my way to read it again and again or to read that many more books like it.

It was simply something different to pick up and read.

So of course I find all these photos questionable but for me it was the photo on pages 50-51. The author trying to pretend to be skeptic quickly rules out everything he claims it could be which means it's supernatural. The thing that struck me as odd was him claiming that the group was dressed for Summer and in Missisippi yet one girl looks to be in a hoody and a few others are in long sleeves yet the girl in front is wearing a tank top. The author also failed to mention the hand holding onto something behind the girls and the fuzzy image of the vehical. Maybe the mist is from the car exaust or a hoax.

I liked that last chapter of this book, where it goes through common misconceptions of what could be “ghostly photos”. Everything else was just not good! I like to have an open mind and would love to have something supernatural or paranormal that I could look at and trust, but nothing in this book is it. Every picture is captioned about how it might be false (pretty much every one has a very reasonable explanation, or has no history we can point to so probably doctored), and some of the photos don’t even look like anything. If you’re interested in the paranormal, there are a lot more books you can look into for a decent read.

This one contained a couple interesting pics, but most of the rest are too indistinct or open to interpretation. The author makes almost no attempt at objectivity, half-heartedly suggesting reflections or lens flare in a few of them before swinging back to “it’s a ghost”. I’d say only get it if you want a complete set of the series.

I've never looked at books or websites like this before, so I don't know how this particular book compares with others. I found it fascinating and a little creepy. If you're interested in this subject matter, give it a look.

Interesting and easy read, it's nice to see the images and have a breif description and background. As a ghost fanatic I found it super interesting and just generally a really easy book.

I'd definitely reccomend to any ghost fans out there.

I read this one and The Paranormal Caught On Film during my lunch break at work and have quickly forgotten which books had what in it, so I'm putting the same review for both. They are by the same company, in the same format, same layout, etc. While both books are a spooky fun time, so many of the photos were obvious manipulations or double exposures or someone painting on the negative etc. It got frustrating to see some good ones mixed in with the dross. At least one of the photos is a pretty famous one that has been proven to be fake (recently, though, so I assume post publication but still. It is the "little girl ghost" at the factory fire one).

I still got the fun chills down my spine and spooky feeling, but had to laugh at so many of them and call bullsh*t. The bullsh*t to spooky ratio was not good enough to warrant a book purchase. The photos are all avaliable places online anyway, including an associated website, ghoststudy.com

Another book about ghosts caught on photos. This one is divided into the following sections: Ghostly Figures, Ethereal Presences, Heavenly Visions, Into the Physical Realm, Ghosts in the House and Trick of Light. There is also a section on how to spot a fake.

As with the other books in the Ghost Caught on Film 1, 2 and 3, most of the material is taken from the larger book Ghost Photos.

From the last section it's obvious that the author is quite willing to point out that some of the photos take are fakes, some obvious, some not so obvious. Another good point about the book is the page where the different types of ghostly figures are actually defined. This explains why the photos will vary considerably in what they are showing.

It's always good to get things defined when dealing with something like this.

Ghosts Caught on Film 2 is a collection of photographs and webcam grabs of ghosts and other apparitions that are not easily explained, along with explanations of where the photo came from and some history on who took the photo. Some of the photos in the book I've seen before, some are new to me. While this book probably is not for everyone, as I'm sure not everyone believes in the possibility of the supernatural, these types of books are a true guilty pleasure for me and I really enjoyed this one. The photos are clearly presented and the descriptions are concise without a lot of fluff. If you like books on ghosts, this would be for you.

This is a collection of the most realistic ghostly photographs. I had issue believing most of them because the author himself showed skepticism and admitted that most were found on the Internet. Some seemed outrightly manipulated to seem ghostly.

Nevertheless, I had a hard time keeping my overactive imagination at bay when I flipped through the photographs alone in the dark.

It is separated into seven chapters:
1. Ghostly Figures
2. Ethereal Presences
3. Heavenly visions
4. Into the Physical Realm
5. Ghosts in the House
6. Trick of the Light
7. Spotting a Fake

There were a few genuinely intriguing and disturbing pictures in this, though others were more easy to dismiss. The chapter on religious images/icons was ridiculous. I mean, a cloud that vaguely looks like a cross? A stain on a wall that if you look at it the right way it looks a little like Jesus? they were stupid. It's hard to imagine people getting worked up over such things, and I don't know why those pics were even in a book that was supposed to be "GHOST" photos. That knocked a whole star or two off of my review.

While this isn't a "novel" it is a fantastic collection of photographs and information to accompany them. Be it about the photographer and what prompted it or information about the legends. Some of these photo's are probably fake but many of them... Well I've taken photo's similar and they're not fake.

All in all it's nice for a quick read... And if you wanna be a little spooked.

This is the first "ghosts on film" book I read and i loved it! It is a great coffee table book, and there isn't just ghosts featured, but all sorts of paranormal phenomena. And while, yes, some may be available on the internet, not all are readily accessible and it is a great easy read. Probably my favorite one of the series.

Interesting to see all the pictures of "spirits" that have been taken over the years. Some are obviously faked but there are some that kind of spooky.
