A group of students choose to take Media Studies in Year 9. Some are genuinely interested, others see it as a soft option. But they all come to realise that the video camera can be both a tool of expression and communication, and an instrument of manipulation, secrecy and lies. This book is suitable for ages 12+.
Marieke Josephine Hardy is a screenwriter, author, blogger, radio presenter, and part-time mud wrestler. She is a little bit taller than Uncanny X-Men lead singer Brian Mannix, though doesn’t fill out a pair of leather trousers nearly as neatly.
She makes host Jennifer Byrne’s life an abject misery once a month on the ABC’s The Book Club. A collection of her essays, You’ll Be Sorry When I’m Dead, was released in August.
Used to love this show. Pretty much each chapter of this book corresponds with an episode of the show. It's pretty funny. Would recommend for teenagers of all genders.
