A Goodreads first reads win! This was a novella- so super fast to read. Intense suspense, interesting story. Although the story was short- Commander Adrian Dee's character was well developed and believable and the story felt complete. This story takes place in an alternate Europe- and makes me want to go visit! I'd love to read a sequel.

Great start gets lost in a novella-like storyline without depth. I like the writing style and will check out Ms. Bernobich novel debut, but this one had so much promise for 20-30 pages or so to devolve into a chase/mess/wave hand storyline...

An interesting alternate-world spy thriller, mixing The Prisoner of Zenda, From Russia With Love and John Buchan with a dash of time travel that felt a bit extraneous. A well-written book, but one that didn't really excite me.

Beautifully-bound little gem of a steampunk novella. Good action and pacing kept my interest. I'm curious to see how Ms. Bernobich has fleshed out this alternate dimension in her other work.
