Yuna Kagesaki (影崎 由那 Kagesaki Yuna ) is a manga artist, born on March 3, 1973 , best known for being the author of the manga Chibi Vampire. Her work has been published under four different names: Yuna Kagesaki (影崎 由那 Kagesaki Yuna) (professionally published non-pornographic comics, except for Sakura no Ichiban), Yuna Kagezaki (影崎 由那 Kagezaki Yuna?) (same characters but different readings; only in Taishō Komachi Jikenchō Sakura no Ichiban!) Yūna Kagesaki (影崎 夕那 Kagesaki Yūna) (spelled with different kanji) when drawing CG's for PC games, and Yuta Kageyama (影山 由多 Kageyama Yuta) when drawing hentai manga or HCG's for PC games. Her real name is presumedly Keya, as she calls herself in the bonus comic strips at the end of volume 3 of her work Hekikai no AiON. In middle school she was a member of the brass band.
In this volume we mainly focus on Ketna's mom and da da da..... the disappearance of Kenta's dad. So, we basically get a good idea of what happened to the family.
Kenta's Mom is starting to figure out the Kenta and Karin have feelings towards one another but those dang youngsters keep denying it. DANG IT!! Kiss her already!!
Not alot of REN in this one or ANJU. They come in from time to time but not a whole lot to comment on.
Karin's Mom and Dad learn how Kenta affects Karin and they forbid him to see her and also her to see him... which just means they totally want to see one another... or at least Karin does ;)
OH! And the ending is a freaking major cliffy which would have had me screaming if I had not already gotten the next book from the library.
***Today I went to Tokyo Pop's website and learned that.... TOKYO POP is no more. This saddens me. Apparently they closed up shop in LA in MAY and ahhhs... why am I always late to the party? I got on a message board that says GERMANY might continue to release the titles but it makes me wonder if they will be translated into English. I really hope they do!! If anyone has any information about this please let me know. I'm mighty curious and can't seem to find any answers that make sense.
Things are going smoothly for both Karin and Kenta. He’s also finally beginning to figure out that Karin might have feelings for him. However, things quickly explode when a detective hired by Fumio’s mother ( who never treated her well after she had Kenta as a teenager) tracks then down. Also in tow is Kenta’s father.
Kenta and her mother go back in to flight mode after being tracked down and Karin offers to help hide them with permission from her family. However, when Karin’s blood raises too quickly and she looses massive amounts of blood in front of her family, they forbid her to continue interacting with him and ask Kenta to stay away from her. But how can Karin give up someone she’s come to value so much in her life? Will Kenta change his mind when she confesses her feelings to him or are they doomed to fail since a human and vampire relationship is simply too difficult to navigate.
This one leaves off on a cliffhanger but luckily I’ve now finished ordering the rest of the set so I look forward to the next volume.
I love Fumio, and I think that really VIP's of this series are her and Anju because of all that they do for the little they get in return.
Fumio has been through a lot growing up and raising a child knowing that both grandparents were going to be abusive to her, her kid, and the father and still going through with things because she's caring and it's just the person she is. Mother of the Year every year goes to Usui Fumio.
I like that these last few volumes, while still about Karin, focus on the people around her just as much as her life still.
We are getting closer to the end of the series and when I was a dumb child I gave up reading here and skimmed the rest of it so going forward most is new content because I wanted to still see the pretty pictures.
Chissà come mai mi era scappata all'epoca? La serie rientra perfettamente nei miei gusti.
The story is picking up but I didn't really feel extremely invested during this volume. I mean the tragedy is quite sweet and I'm enjoying the misfortune of the characters a bit, kind of like the mangaka seems to be... But yeah. I'm just waiting for the more interesting characters and developments.
I actually feel weird reviewing each volume individually, but I don't want to wait until the last volume to say something. The problem is, I don't always have a lot to say, but... I still wanna say something. LOL.
Oh my goodness ahhhh this volume is where everything differentiates from the anime and I'm not mad at it at all. This actually gives us more background on the love interest character which I appreciate. I am really enjoying my read through of this series and I'm excited to read the rest. The only thing I would change would be the order of this new story line. Because of these points 4 out of 5 stars
Each time I finish a volume, I am at a loss because I apparently didn’t actively read this series…. Seriously, so many moments that are new to me! What’s with his dad? Why am I thinking that he is a vampire hunter….?
I need to go to bed, but I want answers! (╯°
Chibi Vampire Volume 6 was quite good. While I found some of the earlier books in the series to be slightly more exciting I thought that this one was pretty good too. At first I found Volume 6 to be a bit confusing because I wasn't entirely sure about what was going on. Eventually it all became clear though so it was quite good. Volume 6 was quite a lot more serious than previous ones so it sparked different emotions. There were certainly a lot of revelations about characters that made me feel sorry for a couple of the characters. Overall, it was pretty good, the illustrations were pretty good. The ending was really good and left me wanting more, I can't wait to read the next one to find out what happens. I'd recommend this to anyone who is a fan of manga or vampires. I would also strongly recommend reading the whole series in order.
Ok, so this volume was slightly better than the previous one I read but still blech. :P The only thing I really "enjoyed" was the family drama w/ Usui Kenta and his poor mother and awful father - I guess those were real people's problems that I could relate to? Karin's character is sweet and likeable but her family is just awful and unlikeable - just reading about them is annoying. And my main problem is that I just can't get behind Karin as a reverse vampire that loses blood instead of taking it, especially when she gets around a boy she likes... It's just too weird. :P
There's trouble in paradise with the arrival of Usui Kenta's father, Iizuka Shusei. We learn about Usui-kun and his mother's tragic past; the start of all their misfortune. The trouble this causes Karin prompts her family to forbid the couple from seeing each other, an arrangement nobody is wholly happy with. We see more of Anju's feelings in this book and how much she loathes the idea of Karin being separated from her.
The book closes with Kenta discovering the real cause of Karin's blood increases. He is not happy with this revelation.
Karins crush on Kenta may be finally be revealed. However, things take a turn when Kenta's mom seeks the whereabouts of Kenta and Karin with the assistance of a detective. A case of mistaken identity causes Karins most explosive nose bleed ever. Karins crush continues, but now it is a forbidden one.
In this one, you get to see some of Fumio's past. The detective, however, turns out to be Kenta's father. Madness I tell you, MADNESS!!
These are super cute and fun to read. Karin is a klutz and pretty much hilarious. I love Anju's creepiness and her dolls are definitely up there in the scary factor. I didn't expect the interesting side stories going on while Karin is still trying to figure out how to seal with Kenta so those are an added bonus.
I'm looking forward to delving into the rest of the series!
Now Kenta nearly has a clue! Chibi Vampire Volume 6 continues with another strong showing that delves deeply into Fumio's past to disclose the reason she and Kenta are living in such poverty. It really brings conflict to the vampire/human mix as her parents work with Kenta to get what they want.
I used to find these books boring, but it's actually pretty funny. What I can't understand is how they both suddenly like each other out of nowhere? They didn't really seem to like like each other, Maaka only turned red around him because of her blood rising but thats about it.
Here's what I love about this series - how deeply thought out and real even the minor characters are. Learning about Kenta's past...seeing his mother fully...my heart goes out to him and makes me want to take him AND his mother in and take care of them both.
I continue to enjoy reading this series. I wish I could have had them all in a row and finish them in one great read. I now want to really continue on with this series and even check out the anime.
