Read for Pride month

society thought us that women were unlovable and undesirable, and wanting only women in your life is horrific.
Two years ago, I was introduced to Sappho, from Lesbos, who we inherited the words Sapphic and lesbian from.
How are these pretty are observed dirty and ugly? And why we use these words as bad things? it's the patriarchy who taught us, certain words equal bad.

Read this book for Pride, because we, as students, have always been perceived as weirdos when we were in high school.
I couldn't even think of the word lesbian back then when I was in high school. All of my friends were straight, and my only queer friends were on my phone.
On the one hand how free is any student ever in a class that is part of a program that is part of a system that is hierarchical, authoritarian, racist, classist, sexist and so on?
_from the book

I never want to be just a lesbian or just a teacher, I want to be a lesbian teacher.
_from the book

Read for research essay for university course. This book was so good. Quick read but interesting since it was a topic I have no experience with and had varied formatting throughout. The poetry was stunning. Even though this book is older than I am, I felt it had implications for the rest of my career.

Quick and interesting read--older, too, so not exactly as applicable but still enough so.

I think I enjoyed reading this book more than I enjoyed the book itself; I'm not sure how much sense that makes, but it's a feeling I tend to get sometimes.

Well, even though it is a very North American point of view, and it is rather old, it was satisfying to read. As a lesbian and as a teacher there have been a few things that hit my heart hard, hence the four stars.
