Jack Rose is one of the most famous pop stars in the world. But unlike my sister, I've never been a fan. Pretentious womanizers aren't exactly my type. So, when he strikes up a conversation as I'm waitressing at his birthday party, I'm not looking for anything more than refilling his drinks. But Jack doesn't give up that easily, and my wounded heart makes me vulnerable.
As I get to know him through dates that feel more like secret missions, I realize the tabloids couldn't be further from the truth. There's a lot more to Jack Rose than the music sensation. He's kind, protective, and his smile makes my insides burn.
The last thing I need when I'm supposed to figure out what to do with my life is to travel the world with a superstar, but the offer might just be too irresistible.
And who knows? Maybe I'll find myself along the way. Hanging out with a creative soul like Jack could be exactly what I need to spark inspiration.
Only Girl is a rockstar romantic comedy with laugh-out-loud moments and sizzling fade-to-black scenes between a French expat and a British singer. It’s the first book in the trilogy and it ends in a cliffhanger. The books must be read in order and there’s a guaranteed HEA in the last book.
While mostly lighthearted, this story explores themes around addiction and recovery that could trigger certain audiences.

Ok this was a cute romcom book! I enjoyed reading Jack and Louise story. He’s a pop star and she’s a waitress in NYC. This book was easy to binge! But what was that ending!?!? I mean I was warned about the cliff hanger… but like what!? Um I’m gonna need the second book like ASAP!
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

They spent the next few days together seeing New York as tourists . When its time for Jack to leave USA he asks her to go with him but she doesn't accept . After few months when Jack is back to NY he visit her and he ask her for a second chance . This time she has no reason to deny him . They spent the next year traveling around the world while he has concerts , learning and loving each other . But what an ending . I loved that Louise didn't want Jack to spent money on her . She wasn't just an arm candy . She has dreams becoming writer . I received this book from the author and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own .
This book was a quick read, and I adored Louise and Jack's relationship! Louise goes from hardship after hardship in life to a literal opportunity of a lifetime; the chance to go on tour and live with a famous rockstar. What can be better than that? Louise is living any teenage girl's dream, dating the attractive rockstar and becoming famous herself, when her life plans go out the window.. The cliffhanger ending left me speechless, I need to know what's happening next already!
I highly recommend this book, you won't regret checking it out!
I received an ARC of this book and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Rockstar romances are not even in my top 5 tropes but this book has made it into my top 5 best reads of 2023 so far! Jack and Louise were enjoyable mc who I loved seeing progress and grow through out this book. The cliff hanger definitely caught me off guard and has me waiting anxiously for the next book.
Okay!!! This book was given to me as an arc for an honest review and whaaaat! I’m still reeling from the cliff hanger I was given, this book was such an easy ready and I honestly enjoyed the story, Louise and jacks story is so cute and I can’t wait to read the second one :)
Louise and Jack are pretty cute together in Only Girl by Marion De Re. Jack is a famous pop star and Louise is just a waitress, but these two have immediate chemistry. I enjoyed watching them get to know each other and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
I honestly couldn’t put this book down! I wanted to see what happened next in this whirlwind romance of Jack and Louise. You will love this book. There is also a twist in this book I did not see coming!
OMG!!! This is a rockstar romance. A good binge read. Louise and Jake will make you laugh and cry. That cliff hanger...wow where did that come from. I can't wait for book two.
What a debut!! Marion De Rè has absolutely nailed.
A little second chance romance troupe, a lot rockstar troupe and a lot only girl for me troupe, I devoured Only Girl in 2 days. I loved Marion’s style of writing and how fast paced Only Girl was. We got an amazing look into Jack & Louise’s lives which was an absolute treat until THAT CLIFFHANGER!! **Cue my baffled brain for the next few weeks** I absolutely vibed with Louise and how genuine and humbled she was throughout the whole book.
When we first meet Louise she is probably having one of the worst few weeks of her life. Louise just caught her boyfriend cheating on her, she gets fired from her job two weeks later and is uncertain about which direction to take in life. With some savings in the bank, she decides it is time for a career change. While looking for the perfect job, her best friend hooks her up with a part-time job waitressing for private events. Her first job is working at a hotel for a birthday party. The birthday party is for a world-famous pop star. When it’s time for Louise to take her dinner break that night she finds herself in the company of the birthday boy himself, Jack Rose. When Louise realizes it’s Jack, she is lost for words. She doesn’t know much about him or his music but can’t help but feel captivated by how gorgeous he is. She tries to leave but he insists she stays and they end up talking as if they’ve known each other for years. The chemistry between them is instantaneous. Over the next few weeks, he invites Louise to join him for on his world tour but she declines. He continues to ask for her to join him and eventually she accepts his invitation and they begin their adventure.
Jack and Louise’s story is a love story unlike any I’ve read. I found myself cheering for them, hoping their love could be true and strong enough to survive anything. They meet their fair share of jealous people and unfavorable characters who try to interfere in their lives but ultimately fail.
Only Girl is a quick and easy read. It’s hard to stop reading once you get started. I enjoyed being hooked right after the first page. The characters feel authentic and are very much a part of the story. The one part that did bother me is that Louise could never fully let go, almost as if she was waiting for the whole thing to fall apart with Jack. Maybe she felt like she was living in a dream and would wake up at any time. She mentions previous bad relationships but it’s hard to see Mr. Perfect (Jack Rose) and understand her questioning his love for her. It would have been nice to see her let go and allow herself to fully “fall” in love with Jack.
I think the book is enjoyable to read, has a great plot and characters, and leaves you wanting more! You will find it hard to put down. The story ends with a big cliffhanger, but don’t worry, another book is coming soon. Now the challenging part is waiting for the next book to see if Jack and Louise’s love can survive! I can’t wait to read more of Jack and Louise’s story and share it with you. I received this book from the publisher and author as an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I received an ARC in exchange for my review and thoughts.
Unfortunately, this was a miss for me. The writing and tone of the book fell flat for me, I couldn’t find the flow to get me in that reading mood.
The story felt extremely cliche imo. Don’t get me wrong, I do love a rockstar romance however the chemistry between the two main characters didn’t feel natural and wasn’t believable. When I’m reading a romance, I really want to be rooting for the couple however I didn’t get that with these two.
I wasn’t on the edge of my seat, and the cliffhanger at the end didn’t make me desperate to find out where the story was going.
Overall, I’m not sure I would pick up the second or third books.
I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review and boy am I so glad I did!
This book takes you along the crazy journey a Pop Star lives, while trying to have some sort of normalcy. Jack and Lousie are living far from our normal everyday life, but their connection is so genuine. You can feel it throughout the entire book. I love how they both push each other out of their comfort zones and also ground each other at the same time. It was such a heartwarming story.
That cliffhanger (although I knew one was coming) shocked me! I absolutely cannot wait to read the 2nd book to see what happens next.
I RECEIVED THIS ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW!
Thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me the opportunity to read this book. This is a rockstar romance and it does end on a cliffhanger.. be warned. This book reminded me so much of the movie Starstruck
Okay so right off the bat.. it’s a bit slow but overall the book is incredibly quick. The scenes are relatively short in my opinion. The descriptions aren’t super vivid so it was a bit hard for me to really dig deep into the story and feel as if I was watching a movie and not just reading words on a screen.
There is no prior history to the FMC and the MMC knowing each other but they happen to meet at a party that she was working at. They hit it off as she clearly doesn’t treat him like he’s some rockstar but more so of a person. They quickly hit it off since he’s trying to dig himself out of the hole of being a rockstar and just being a normal boy. Not going to lie.. their first kiss took me by surprise. It was pretty straight forward and abrupt but a rockstar is a busy man. Overall this romance was super cute. If you expect spice.. there isn’t any but the cute dialogue and experiences between the FMC and MMC will surely makeup for it. The cliffhanger though… I’m super excited to see where the author decides to take this next.
This book was quite honestly a little bit of a struggle for me to get through! I had high expectations because I LOVE a rockstar trope, but it just fell flat.
What I loved: the beginning with the reader expectations! Oh, this would be SO good in every book so that you have an idea of what’s coming. Such a great feature!
What I disliked: A lot of dialogue, like almost too much, which was difficult to follow. And the dialogue was very forced, or so it felt. It was almost juvenile dialogue, too.
Lots of commas, especially in sentences that were already too short for them anyway. Then there were commas missing from other areas, which created many run-on sentences and that made it even harder to follow along.
Storyline felt choppy and difficult to follow along with, hard to connect to characters. She’d often refer to other characters but by various names, so it was difficult to follow. The chemistry between the FMC and MMC was also difficult to believe… which I disliked most!
Overall, not the worst book, but not the best either. Thank you for the ARC opportunity!
I was lucky enough to be given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. I felt so privileged to be able to do this. To receive an ARC has been a dream of mine. I loved the reader expectations at the start. Louise’s life starts off in the story in a stressful horrible period of her life. I don’t want to say too much and spoil it but I loved the storyline and when I wasn’t reading this book I was always thinking about it. Her continuing story becomes every girls dream come true .. until it isn’t.
There is a sense of humour throughout the book and I can feel the emotions being portrayed. And mentioning my favourite person’s career is always a winner for me lol.
I loved the cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the next book. Thank you so much for this privilege I had a great time.
Only Girl is the first book in a trilogy by Marion De Ré, following Louise Mercier, a lovely young French woman living in the US. The series is a bit like a memoir of her experience with pop sensation, Jack Rose, along with her growing fame. In Only Girl, Louise meets this swoon-worthy rock star who tries his hardest to sweep her off her feet.
Follow along with her rise to celebrity status all while staying her sweet, kind, caring, and down-to-earth self.
This book ends with a cliffhanger, but the series does promise a happily ever after...eventually.
If you like sexy, charming heroes and sweet heroines, you'll want to pick up this book, and the other two, which will be out soon.
This was one of the sweetest rom-coms I’ve read this year!
When I came across the blurb on IG I instantly requested for an ARC because it sounding like a pretty fun read, and it definitely turned out to be one. Falling in love with a celebrity…and having him love you back is something most girl dream of. Both characters were perfectly written and instantly made me fall in love with them.
This book had me swooning right till the end (almost) First of the trilogy.. this one left on a cliffhanger but there’s a HEA in book 3 so I’m eagerly waiting for it!
If you enjoy a sweet friends to lovers romance, you have to give this one a read 💕
I absolutely LOVED this book. I'm not usually a fan of celebrity romances, but this one is so different. It'll make you swoon, cry, laugh... Trust me it's a rollercoaster of emotions. I was in a reading slump and this got me out of it in a few hours! I couldn't stop. And I actually love that it's part of a trilogy with an overlapping storyline, because I always struggle to say goodbye to the characters at the end of a book. That's why I loved the After and Twilight series so much. Definitely go for it, you won't regret it! Book two and three will be released the next two months I think, so we don't even have to wait that long!
Wow, this book certainly doesn’t hold any punches. It’s so well written and was hard to put down. What starts as a chance encounter leads to something more between Louise and Jack. They certainly get put through all the tests during their relationship and have more on the horizon. I loved reading every minute of this book and really felt all the emotions during the quirky ones and the other ones as well. I don’t want to give away too much. This is the first book in this trilogy and I certainly can’t wait to pick up the second book after reading the ending of this one.
Holy Moly!!!! If you are ready for a true romantic clean wholesome story, then you are in the right place. I loved every bit of this book. I cried, I laughed, I cried some more. Be warned it does leave you with a major cliffhanger but if you're like me it just makes you want to read the next book even more. I can't wait to get my eyes on it! I received this book as an ARC. My review are my own thoughts and opinions.
Since I DNF’d this book, I won’t give it a rating. I don’t find it fare to give a rating to a book that I haven’t finished.
Whilst the concept of it all was really cute and fun, I just couldn’t get into the writing. It was too simple for me I think, in the way the dialogues went and such. At 24% I decided to stop, so that I can now focus on something new again.
Fun and adventurous romcom. All the glitz, glamour and real life pressures of being the girl friend of a rock star. Jack and Louise are the perfect couple. I enjoyed all the travel and perks of this inside peak into the lives of the rich and famous.
I was not prepared for that ending !! What the heck Marion
Loved this book! Just a normal, down to earth, hard working girl who had her heart broken & lost her job, to a girl falling in love with a Pop Star, going on tour with him, getting engaged, her own brand deals, & just living the dream! Or so she thought, til one letter changed everything! Can’t wait to read the next book & find out what happens!!

This book is dope. The author did a lovely work here. The words, descriptions are simple and easy going. The characters are amazing (both the loving and hateful ones). The MC are just so...irresistible. I have read and re-read this book and every time feels like the first. I love Louise, she is entertaining. She always think (overthink) before doing things. And Jack is amazing with his guitar. I love how honest and truthful the MCs are to each other, and also how encouraging they are. And the cliffhanger....urrrrgh. I have a love/hate relationship with cliffhangers, they make me anxious but I'm willing to wait. Overall, this book is amazing. Thank you Marion for birthing such an amazing book; can't wait to read Broken Boy again.
I really enjoyed it! I got an ARC copy of this book I might be the only one who actually liked the cliffhanger bc it’s made me excited for the next one👀 Thank you to the author for allowing me the link to the ARC🥰
The book was great! I absolutely love it! I didn’t get bored and it drew me in with more and more with each chapter I read!! THAT ENDING KILLED ME! GREAT CLIFFHANGER! Can’t wait for Broken Boy!!
Only Girl did something to me that very few romance novels of this trope have—pull me into the story and made me imagine being someone’s “Only Girl”, and I loved every second of it. From beginning to end, the romance captures you and wraps you up in a world of life-changing love and affection and friendship. You connect with the characters and root for that HEA like a Jack Rose groupie. While I found some passages to be a little too explanatory or maybe even clinical…I would recommend this book to anyone who asked.
