After a grueling night in the ER, all Dr. Pete Coen wants is to decompress at his local watering hole. He's not interested in casual hook-ups with sexy strangers, though Duncan Burgess is as seductive as they come. But their chance encounter seems not so random when Pete discovers he's not a stranger to Duncan after all.
One explosive night changes his entire future. Pete saves Duncan's life, Duncan saves Pete's, and still, the danger for both of them has only just begun. Pete doesn't want to believe stories about demons who feed on pleasure, and he certainly doesn't want to get thrown into the middle of incubus politics nor become the prey of a succubus. But Duncan has had centuries to perfect his powers of persuasion. They have no choice but to join forces.
Because even for the best doctor in town, sex can be killer...

Vivien Dean has had a lifetime love affair with stories. A multi-published author, her books have been EPPIE finalists, Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Nominees, and readers favorites. After spending her twenties and early thirties traveling, she has finally settled down and currently resides in northern California with her British husband and two children.
I was ready to vote 4 stars until their first sex scene that was a total 'WTF?' moment.
I liked Pete, he is antisocial, have a snarky personality, that's make him real, human. The problems's that the guy react strongly to Duncan, not all in a good way, think he is a psychopact, dangerous, etc and sudenly they have sex! I found Duncan's creepy and not someone interesting to know. He seems to like Pete only because he can resist him. I don't belive in them, in a future for them. It's was almost a DNF for me.
A little note: "I want to bend you over and bury myself sodeep in you, it’ll take me a week to get out." This sentence was used almost, word to word on the book 'Colliding in Free Fall' by this writer.
While like any other Vivien Dean's stories, it's well written and flow nicely. However, I just don't really get the whole anger that Pete has, his reaction to Duncan, that is. And I don't really see them going further -- rather than the fact that they're there to fulfil each other's craving since Pete seems to be immune of Duncan's power as an incubus. The sex is hot though :)
This book really held my interest the first half, but I just wanted more out of it. I think I would have liked it better if they didn't end up together because they were forced apart or if it somehow took years for Duncan to come back instead of 3 days.
