Israel Ori and the Armenian Liberation Idea is the first volume of the Nerqin Grots book series. The volume presents the Armenian translation of historian and politician Ashot Johannissyan's PhD dissertation, which he defended in Munich in 1913, along with its German original. The text is supplemented with Johannissyan's working notes, as well as with extensive editorial remarks that allow the reader to trace the development of the dissertation up until Johannissyan's double volume monograph, Episodes in the History of Armenian Liberation Thought. In addition, the book contains the opinions of Johannissyan's German professors’ regarding his dissertation, as well as his speech delivered later in 1955 on the occasion of the defense of his doctoral dissertation in Yerevan. The book concludes with Vardan Azatyan's study of Johannissyan's life and work. Իսրայել Օրին և հայ ազատագրական գաղափարը գիրքը «Ներքին գրոց» մատենաշարի առաջին հատորն է, պատմաբան և քաղաքական գործիչ Աշոտ Հովհաննիսյանի՝ 1913 թվականին Մյունխենում պաշտպանած դոկտորական ավարտաճառի հայերեն գիտական հրատարակությունը՝ հանդիպադիր գերմաներեն բնագրով: Գիրքը համալրված է Հովհաննիսյանի աշխատանքային նոթերով, ինչպես նաև ծավալուն ծանոթագրություններով, որոնք թույլ են տալիս տեսնել ավարտաճառի զարգացումն ընդհուպ մինչև նրա երկհատոր ուսումնասիրությունը՝ Դրվագներ հայ ազատագրական մտքի պատմության: Գրքում հրատարակված են նաև Հովհաննիսյանի գերմանացի պրոֆեսորների կարծիքներն իրենց ուսանողի ավարտաճառի մասին, ինչպես նաև ավելի ուշ՝ 1955 թվականին նույն թեմայով Երևանում պաշտպանած իր դոկտորական ատենախոսության առիթով ասված ճառը: Գիրքն ամփոփվում է Հովհաննիսյանի կյանքի ու գործի մասին Վարդան Ազատյանի ուսումնասիրությամբ:
