They were best friends who fell in love years ago. Then everything fell apart. Now one of them is looking to turn back time.

When Billy was in his last year of high school, Neo and Billy were inseparable, even though they were from opposite sides of the tracks. Then, one night, Billy ruined everything, and Neo hammered the nail in the coffin. Despite still seeing each other all the time, and almost fourteen years later, they still haven’t spoken about that night. But nothing has changed for Billy. There is no one else out there for him. No amount of fame or fortune could buy or replace Neo. Neo is the one for him. Always has been. It’s long past the point Billy should have let the past go and dogged Neo’s every step until he gave in, but there’s no time like the present. Now he just needs Neo to cooperate.

Neo is fine with Billy being the one, even though they’ll never be together. For him, it’s a nice a memory to look back on as long as he doesn’t get to the part where Billy chose his rich friends over him. That’s okay. Neo got his revenge. They’re even and are cordial these days. So what if he can’t stop eyeing Billy’s very nice physique and gorgeous eyes? That’s life. He’ll live. All he has to do is keep resisting Billy’s nonstop advances because Neo knows the one truth that will never change. Money will always choose money in the end.

Exhale is the second book in Charity Parkerson’s Fresh Hell series, where sometimes, it’s something different every day in the battlefield known as life. These are a combination of sports, bi-awakening, and several other sub genres with interconnecting characters. This series is best when read in order.

Grab the tissues

OMG, this was an emotional rollercoaster ride. Neo and Billy have some serious past hurt that has left them both broken. Truths are revealed that you won't see coming and a hard fought heart wrenching HEA.

This book really just glossed over serious topics as if they were inconsequential.

The MC was raped / didn't consent, and nobody knew. It was a paragraph and not really mentioned again. Radomly, at the end, the rapist was arrested for child pornogrophy.

The other MC made the MC believe he slept with his father for years. That was already a deal breaker. They kept saying that the issues between the dad and the MC were not because of this, I would call BS, if your dad slept with the person you loved it would be enough to ruin any relationship. They didn't sleep together, but it was still not entirely platonic. The dad even said he would marry the other MC. But this is all acceptable because in a moment when the MC was young he ignored the other MC and he deserved everything because of it.

Billy and Neo

Charity Parkerson's books never fail to put a smile on my face, and this book is no exception. I really enjoyed Billy and Neo's journey.

I would give zero stars if I could the most ridiculous thing I’ve read in a long long time. And yes Billy’s dad is a fucking predator and a groomer for what he did to Neo being what 18!!! And sleeping with him when he was in emotional distress and clearly had feeling for his son but somehow making it all Billy’s fault because he made a mistake at what 18!?!!! And just never giving billy a real apology no wonder he’s fucked up his parents are emotionally inept idiots. And let’s be real nobody is going to be in love with someone who fucks and still flirts with their dad. Not everyone needs to be a fucking author put the pen down.

Billy finally gets Neo

Billy and Neo have been in love with each other since the day they met. But secrets had a way of tearing any relationship they might have had apart. Of course characters from book one was in this book as support characters. Can't wait for Billy's dad story to come out.

Am I missing something?.. Billy says that he has a great relationship with his dad who apparently slept with Neo, whom he loved and still loves.

Like idk what happens or happened but there are scenes in which Billy's dad tells Neo that they should get married and flirts with him even though he knows clearly that Billy loves Neo and I guess that's enough reason for me to dnf this

S. This man was sexually assaulted or raped, and all he got for his trouble was a little ass paragraph and thinking that the love of his life was having sex with his dad. Like yeah that was a shit move. He pulled as a teenager who was bullied, but come on everybody involved should have had more remorse.
