Anne Malcom has been an avid reader since before she can remember, her mother responsible for her book addiction. It started with magical journeys into the world of Hogwarts and Middle Earth, then as she grew up her reading tastes grew with her. Her obsession with books and romance novels in particular gave Anne the opportunity to find another passion, writing. Finding writing about alpha males and happily ever afters more fun than reading about them, Anne is not about to stop any time soon.
This book is dark. For those of you who read Wilting Violets, you probably already suspected it would be. There are some very triggering scenes featuring graphic violence, sexual assault, mentions of suicide. Sariah’s story is not an easy one, so I understand if this is where I leave you. I promise, like always, she will get her HEA. Anne"
There is a reason that this author is an automatic one-click for me. I didn't think it could be possible that I would come to love this spin-off of the OG Templar men since it is a series that I reread whenever I need to lose myself in an incredible world filled with amazing characters. However, the choke hold that this series has on me...
In the last book, we knew that things had been intense for Sariah but had no definitive details of what had happened. This book gives those answers and lets me just say that it is horrendous. I'm not sure that anybody else would have been able to not drown in their demons. My heart hurt for her. None of her healing would have been possible if it wasn't for Colby. He was fierce but patient in his devotion to Sariah. He never wavered, no matter how much RiRi fought him. She was in survival mode, not that anybody could blame her, but so was Colby. He knew she was his end-all and nothing was going to stop him from giving his woman that love and support. He was the perfect blend of Biker and a good man. He, also, had the perfect words that were dirty and swoon-worthy.
There were secondary characters that stood out and I hope, eventually, will get their stories told. The world-building in this book is extraordinary and would love it if the author continues it. Regardless, I'm A huge fan and will follow her down the rabbit hole--wherever that may be.
Anne Malcom knows how to hit me with the raw and angsty feels. Wrathful Souls is no exception. You can pick it if you love possessive, protective and extremely hot alpha bikers. You can pick it if you love sassy, fierce and broken but fighting heroines. You can pick it up if you love suspense, steam and soul in your romance. But I think the most important reason to pick this book should be how inspiring and honest this story is. I felt something moving at the very core of my heart when I finished the story. You will experience darkness, grief, horrors of trauma and extreme loss. But you will also be part of a breathtaking journey of healing, growth and redemption. Sariah and Colby had to do it in a messy, complicated and heartbreaking way. It’s not pretty or sunny all the way. It's sometimes toxic, sometimes vulnerable, sometimes hopeless but ultimately this kind of story fills you with beliefs, courage and kindness.
Please check triggers. Sariah lives life in her own terms. Bold personality. Bold style. Lush wardrobe. She isn’t ashamed of her profession as a cam girl. She owns her sexuality. But this same fierce woman got broken..first by a predator and then by a serial killer. Her best friend Violet is part of Sons of Templar MC family and Colby would do anything to save her. She pushed the alpha biker repeatedly but Colby isn’t going anywhere. Would She lose herself when she runs?
The heartbreak in this story is massive. Sariah's trauma isn’t for fainthearted. But the way the author weaved the story is so unique. Sariah dealt with her grief in a messy and real way. She didn't lean on to her friend or Colby. She felt dirty and worthless for the first time in her life after a long time. And she just escaped everyone. It wasn’t pretty. There is no sweet healing. Colby didn't force her to come back or to tell her darkness. He was just her shadow. A protective and possessive and larger than life shadow. It's in his biker DNA to be a caveman but it's also in his DNA to be what his woman needs to be. Sariah didn't take easy on him. She denied their soul deep connection but she didn't reject their sensational chemistry. Before her nightmarish ordeal, she pushed him away as she didn't want a bossy biker even when she secretly liked his alpha ways. And after the trauma, she was just lost in her pain. But she slayed her own demons. The MC family was definitely the source of support emotionally but she was so brave! I am in awe! This story has everything you can want in a great MC romance. Colby is swoon personified. All of us need a Colby. Vicious and ruthless for his enemies and all consumingly devoted for his woman. Here is a real man who respects and loves fiercely but is also possessive every way. I love the MC family with their strong bonding and loyalty. Anne Malcom's MC universe is a place that I never want to leave!
Just….be prepared to cry. I ugly cried through this book because it was just that marvelous. The author, as always, writes so well and it’s so authentic that it pulls and rips your heart up. That may not sound like a good time - but it is, it’s the best of times and it hurts so good. These characters are just so realistic, that it’s both gripping and immersive. I loved Colby. Loved, loved, loved him. He stood by Sariah through everything and, well, there’s a lot. I loved Sariah in previous books, and it was lovely and heartbreaking to watch her out herself back together after everything. The book is more than a romance and is fantastic. Now I’m ready for the next….
i enjoyed this book but it was so dark and it took me a while to warm up to Saraiah but i love coloby so much any biker man sign me up.
It was hard to stay interested in this book, i am all for feminism and a badass fmc but she was so annoying in a way i get she had trauma but there was a line when she could have had growth development and found trust between her and coloby i mean nobody can even really knew her side of the story of what happend when she was kidnapped.
I wished she has more growth development and not every encounter lead to sex
i did almost dnf 6 times 💔

An emotional rollercoaster with Colby and Sariah. A traumatic experience leaves Sariah changed forever, and Colby tries to be there for her. I cannot tell you how much I felt in this story. Colby despite being in a ruthless MC club, is just the sweetest knight in shining armor. This is one of those stories where two people know that being together is right but are too stubborn to actually be together… because they’re afraid. But it’s a beautiful story, a tragic one, but most makes the best ones.
Sariah’s story is everything!! I’ve loved her character since she was introduced and this book phenomenal. I love this series, but this one in particular. To see her come up from the ashes in growth and acceptance, had me feeling all the things. And Colby, whew he also grew and was that alpha male I’ve grown to love. I’m a fan and would love more these characters.
So I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this book. I literally could not put it down. But then that is the kind of writer that Anne is. She creates this world and story that just completely pulls the reader in, and we cannot stop reading to find out what happens next.
Anne's MC world is one of the best I have read. All of her characters feel real, the story feels real you feel as if you are reading about your best friend.
Also another point I love about Anne's writing is that she always gives the readers a sense of family. Family is everything to me, and I love that her characters do the same.
Overall Sariah and Colby's story will warm your heart and leaving you needing more from this author.
I’m obsessed with her name but I honestly didn’t like Sariah for most of the book and I’m really bummed about that. In our quest to have strong, amazing FMCs unfortunately a lot of them fall into the terrible category of “I’m not like other girls I’m a cool girl who treats ppl who love her bad, contradicts myself constantly and gets into terrible situations because I didn’t listen because I was SURE I knew better.” It’s incredibly frustrating to deal with characters like this and Sariah is the worst of the worst of these characters. It’s one thing to introduce a character like this and then the story flows with their growth but we already knew what Sariah was about from the previous book and to spend 50% of this book with the same obnoxious, self sabotaging character is exhausting. Typically I would have DNF’d this book about 40% of the way through but having read other Anne Malcom books I knew it was going to get better. I am however sad that so much of the book was taken up by Sariah being awful-leaving much less time for all the good that I knew was coming.
“You don’t call the shots here, buddy. It’s the women in charge here, since one of them is bringing life into this world and the other is on her way out.” Like how obnoxious-even bleeding out Sariah is still being obnoxious and for what? Even she herself acknowledges her immaturity and her mean, childish actions. What’s worse though in my opinion-is her arrogance. Her arrogance at assuming the danger would never come to her door, her arrogance that Colby could never understand how she was feeling after he finds her when she runs away, her arrogance in the complete disregard for all the people that love her.
The best moment in this book for me was when Sariah reunited with her parents. The author did a fantastic job of showing how as adults, we can truly see our parents for what they actually are-not what we as rebellious children build them up as in our minds. Parents aren’t perfect but neither are they these horrible crushing monsters that we tend to turn them into. Sariah spends a little while confused and ultimately embarrassed of herself and how’s she treated her parents and thought of them but those final moments of healing between them were masterfully written. The parents aren’t perfect and slightly overly religious but both of them love her more than anything and I’m relieved that both Sariah and myself as the reader were able to see and experience that.
The book of course ended beautiful, Malcom is a really great writer. It’s just a shame that so much of the book was taken up with Sariah being terrible, leaving less time to see her growth and how her growth effected and grew her relationships with the people who love her.

There was about 40 pages of this book where I thought it might turn around into being as good as the other 2 in this series, but this couples constant need to solve everything via getting nasty was pissing me off badd
You know it’s serious when I had to take a pause after the mmc said he watched his sister shoot herself in the head when he was a kid cause I fully expected them to get naked by the end of the chapter and I GOTTA draw the line somewhere
Talking about some “I love you” and I bet yall don’t even know each others middle names 🙄🙄🙄
and i was so not locked into this book that by the time I got to the chapter where they DRANK EACH OTHERS BLOOD I was literally laughing my ass off like seriously what do you mean 😭😭 you can try and make that as poetic as you want but now I’m over here thinking about them both contracting hiv. The epilogue should’ve been a romantic date to the nearest HOSPITAL to get tested for various blood borne illnesses
Holy moly, what a story! Going into this book after the ending of the previous story, Wilting Violets, I knew things might get a bit rough—and they did—but everything that was written was necessary and more importantly, answers were given. The beginning definitely hooked me in lightning fast, then I was totally absorbed in this fast-paced story until the very end.
Colby was a great character, he had a moral code that he strived to stick to; yes, I know he’s a one percent biker. His restraint was phenomenal in regards to the physical chemistry between he and Sariah. His respect for women admirable too. Sariah was such an interesting character. I liked her when I met her in the previous story, but in this book, I loved her. I liked how she acted all tough, and she was, but not always. What she always was, was honest with her self—even if it meant she told herself she could unpack certain feelings later. She had such an incredible way of looking at life. With everything that happened, and it was HUGE, she knew she had to deal with things in her own way. Did I like that way? Not particularly, but mainly because I was worried about her. Now in my book, if a reader is that invested in the story that she is ‘worried’ about a character, then this author can sure write—and she definitely does a brilliant job every single time she creates a story.
Colby and Sariah were instantly attracted to each other but Sariah made him work for her big time, boy could that girl argue. 😂Their chemistry was incredible and Ms Feminist (I’m not knocking it just explaining in a shortened way) couldn’t deny how strong it was between them. More importantly, they truly liked each other.
Be prepared for some highs and lows in regards to emotions, all relevant and all felt deeply. At times I was so teary, yet at others, smirking from Sariah’s antics, the way she went about things and her fun banter—cynical or not. For example the way she spoke about herself… “Now, getting tortured by a serial killer hadn’t rendered me completely unhinged…” 😄
This is another incredible story in a sensational series.
I knew going in, that this book would be intense and brutal, and it was on all fronts. But it was also a beautiful, if not frustrating, love story that kept me turning the pages until the bitter end.
I freakin’ adored Colby and Sariah. They frustrated me to no end in equal measure, but they definitely kept things interesting. Colby is all kinds of stubborn and determined alpha male. At times it was a bit OTT for me, but he has a certain charm and way of seeing who a person is at their core that softened his neanderthal tendencies. Sariah is fierce, blunt and loyal and when she decides on something, she goes all in ~ even if it may be detrimental to her safety. Her journey was brutal, but in the end she came out stronger than ever.
To say that Sariah and Colby’s journey was a lesson in frustration is an understatement, but with two such strong and independent personalities colliding, there was no other way it could be. The chemistry between them was crazy strong and despite all the push/pull and the rocky road they had to travel, they were perfect for each other. They saw beneath each others facade’s and when push came to shove, they found not only a soft and safe place to land, but a place where they could find the strength to keep moving forward.
This book is a great addition to the series. The triggers abound, but they are all necessary for the growth of the characters and their journey but within the darkness, there is hope and determination and whole lot of heart that comes out of it. As for the SoT crew, it was fun to catch up with every and see how they are all doing in their various relationships, but Hades is still my fav of the bunch, especially after this book…but now it’s time to practice patience until the next book is announced to see who will fall to cupids arrow and the chaos it will cause everyone around them.
Note: This book intersects with Wilting Violets (Elden and Violet).

“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest of souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars,” - Kahlil Gibran
Wrathful Souls is one of the hardest of Anne Malcom's books I've read in the last several years. Don't get me wrong, Anne's illustrious writing shines throughout the entire novel, it's simply that Sariah and Colby are in so much pain for the first half that I wondered if this was THE book that I would have to cut and run on.
I love that Colby persevered, that he never gave up on Sariah, while at the same time giving her the space she needed to heal from her experience with Granger. When he found her, he never expected her to remain the same Sariah he found in the desert. Colby wanted her to become a whole new Sariah, and did she surprise him by joining him in that new life!
The trip to Utah, and the healing that took place there was so kind, and sweet, and unexpected. I expected anger, and wrath, judgment and the same home Sariah left, but perhaps some parents do grow and see what they can have if they love their child through it. The tenderness toward both Cody and Sariah in those moments was a beautiful thing, and helped me believe that might be there for me one day - even though rationally, I know not to expect it.
All in all Wrathful Souls is an exquisitely, Heartbreaking romance that comes with a sea of painful triggers, but if you are strong enough to walk through the dark then there is such a beautiful sunrise at the end. It just might not look like what you've expected with a Happily Ever After before. Regardless, Anne Malcom is writing superb, rich characters that will stick with you for a good long while. This is the epitome of a book hangover, be gentle with yourselves for a while after.
Five out of five stars for Colby and Sariah's wrenching sadness in Wrathful Souls.
TW: Abduction on the page, rape and injury with knives on the page, grief, infertility on the page
Pain is part of life. Some have more of it than others. Sometimes it can bring love into your life because you need it to survive, to breathe again. Sariah lived a life before pain enveloped it but that pain, the all encompassing one, that was born after the moment her life was on the line. Colby lived in pain most of his life. It was embedded in his brain visually but he needed Sariah to enter his world to be that level of pain to the test. To bring it forward in his mind so that he could heal where it came from.
Their story teaches both of them that their pain could also bring them together. Teach them that love can exist amongst the pain. This story has a darkness that will surround you. You will be transfixed by the details. Gripped by their ability to end lives but healed with their courage to change them. You will be bare witness to strength, courage, and shame but you will also feel love rise you up from the ashes. The friendships, the brotherhood and the life they lead will grasp you. It’s gritty but you want to get dirty with each page you turn.
Anne Malcom writes kickass heroines. Women who have paid their dues to find themselves through fire. The men they choice to stand by their sides are men most would run from. They may try to but then they learn that running toward them is worth it. The Sons of Templar MC are hard men to love. Harder to understand but as a writer, Anne creates these hardened hot ass men, their strengths, their undying love of their brothers, their patch and their women so beautifully, you can’t help but love and understand them as well.
I’ve read every one of their stories and this one resonates with me the most. It’s the survival. The rising up after the smoke clears. I’m a survivor. Anne wrote this book because she too is a survivor. You need to read this book, because we are all survivors of something that almost took us. You can rise.
“I’ve got no expectations about who you are now,” Colby continued. “You’re gonna be different, and I’ll fing treasure every new part of you because it was born from your need to survive.” His hand fastened on my hip, the other clutching my neck. “You can be whoever the f you need to be, and I’ll still want you. And I’m willing to bet that this new person will still need to kick ass wearing ridiculously expensive, ridiculously sexy boots.”
Sons od Templar MC-New Mexico series continues to show us the importance of found family, and rising above the hurt. Wrathful Souls is Anne Malcom’s book three, and it focus’ of Sariah and Colby’s tumultuous relationship.
After a horrendous attack, the Sariah we have known can do nothing other than change, and Colby, having decided she was his from their first meeting, will do anything and everything to keep her safe. This book has a lot of activity that could be triggering, but as intense as it is in its heartbreak, it is in its love.
Malcom finds those tiny threads of life, the ones that taunt and nag and find their way under our skin. She then pulls on them, allowing us to meet the person inside of each of us, the one we sometimes even hide from ourselves. Ultimately, we grow, and learn, and lust and love with her characters. We see loyalty and life and lots of important connections. We watch them rise above.
ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED! After the cliffhanger in the previous book regarding Sariah I was already hooked, but now getting this book in my hands I couldn’t put it down and was obsessed with every single page! Something I’ve been loving that Anne has been doing is giving us a spoiler of sorts about the next book’s character plot, but then starting their book off with a prequel of sorts, giving us the background that makes us understand the character better for when the book picks up. We get to know Sariah and her secrets, along with her being kidnapped by the serial killer and the aftermath of how she handles things along with her feelings towards Colby that they’ve fought since meeting. I was absolutely rooting for these two to get their HEA and Anne makes this happen with also helping these two work through their pasts together. This book was a total wild ride and had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Anne really just does something with her writing and the way she writes these characters, and they absolutely worm their ways into my (black) heart. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series and what comes next! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I love the Sons of Templar! Colby and Sariah are quite a pair! So... parts of Sariah's story are absolutely brutal and horrible and awful. But she is determined to not let those parts define her. I love that for her. She is one tough chick. Her story is one of hope, even if it's ugly before it's beautiful. I love Colby's patience and persistence. His quiet strength is exactly what Sariah needed. Wrathful Souls is a great read and had me glued to the pages. If you like dark romance, you'll enjoy this book and series. Also, I do recommend reading this series in order.
All that being said, I've read all of Anne's books and have enjoyed them all. But the hardcore feminist thing is starting to get old. I'm all for girl power- in fact the sisterhood vibes were something I loved about Anne's writing clear back when Making the Cut came out- but when every female lead character behaves the same, thinks the same, has the same rants, it makes them all blend together. The dangerous situations they put themselves in just because they can do anything a man can do or whatever... ugh. Eye roll. I know, I know... I suck, but I can't help the way I feel and these are only my opinions. So take them or leave them, but definitely read the books cause they are great regardless!
When Sariah made it to be by Violet’s side for Willow’s birth (in Wilting Violets), we knew she was just saved from her kidnapping, but in her story we learn the torture she had endured and I was in absolute awe of her strength. She loves with her whole being and to see what was done to her just broke my heart. As much as she tried to hide her pain it became too much, so she had to go. She roamed the country needing to be alone, but one day she heard the voice she knew so well and deep down knew would eventually find her.
I absolutely loved Colby, he was determined to find and be there for Sariah through it all, but he knew exactly when to and when not to push her. He was all alpha but so so patient with Sariah.
My heart hurt for everyone but the way they all rallied around each other and to see Sariah healing made my heart sing!
This was another fantastic book from one of my favorite authors. 5-stars!!!
I really enjoyed Wrathful Souls by Ann Malcolm. The plot pulled me in right away, and the pacing made it super easy to get through. Sariah had already broken away from her strict religious upbringing, and I liked how she was fully living life on her own terms. She was chaotic in the best way—loved her wild lifestyle, her best friends, and true crime podcasts. But that obsession ends up being her downfall when she starts digging into the murders of NSFW workers… and becomes one of the serial killer’s targets.
Colby was probably my favourite part of the book. He had such strong “touch her and die” vibes, and I loved how protective and caring he was with her, even while dealing with his own demons.
The only thing that didn’t really work for me was how much focus there was on Sariah’s drinking. I understand she was trying to cope and in recovery, but it felt a bit too in-your-face. I think I would've connected more if it had been handled in a more subtle or layered way.

Wrathful Souls is the next instalment in the Sons of Templar New Mexico series and is a much anticipated read by me❣️We meet Sariah in the previous book, she’s the well dressed and spunky best friend to Violet. But unfortunately when visiting Violet in her new hometown, her interest in a serial killer who is killing women with a link to some sort of promiscuous “lifestyle” soon highlights that they don’t know much about Sariah, especially when the serial killer abducts her next😳 Secrets explode and life as she knows it, will never be the same😢
A very dark journey for Sariah but Colby is determined to show her the man he is and that no matter what he will stand by her side😍 I’m excited to see what happens next in this series. I received an advanced copy and I voluntarily leave my honest review❤️
I am always amazed with each book Anne Malcom writes and this one put my heart through a wringer. There are a few possible triggers for some so please make sure you are aware of these before starting this story. It is heartbreaking but something beautiful is born out of the ashes that Sariah goes through and Colby is there to help her in a way she didn't think she needed.
I can't imagine what she was feeling and the strength she had to have to survive. With the words written I could feel her heartbreak and the feeling of being lost. Colby had so much devotion and knew how to slowly help her become the new but a bit of the old Sariah.
I think this has to be my favorite of the New Mexico chapter of the SOT. But now I think I need me more of Ollie and Wire because that sounds like another fun time.
Colby has been attracted to Sariah from the moment she walked into the clubhouse looking for Violet. Sariah is a very independent, self-sufficient, say it how she sees it person. Despite the fact that she is very attracted to Colby, she refuses to give in to him. Sariah is obsessed with the local serial killer, and is determined to find him since the police don’t seem to be doing anything. Everything changes when she becomes his last victim. Sariah is rescued by Colby and his brothers. Everything changes for her, and she has to embark on her own journey to overcome everything she’s been through.
This is an amazing book, the characters the storyline but most of all the writing is simply flawless. In Wilting Violets we know Sariah made it in time for Willow's birth and now it is time to fill in all the blanks. There are some dark parts to this story so take note of the warnings however this story could not be told without these events being recounted.
I did not think it was possible for me to like Sariah anymore than I did in the previous book but the author blew my perceptions out of the water. I knew she was an independent strong woman and we see that in spades. We also see just how hard she loves but in protecting them she breaks her own heart. Her devastation, anger and pain were depicted perfectly I could feel every emotion and believe me it hurts. Then we have Colby who despite his flaws he is still perfect for her in every way. I lived for his tenacity and determination to get the girl but what I loved most of all was the way he loved her it was joyous to read.
This was a difficult book to read at times however I would not change a thing. Another amazing book from one of my favourite authors.
