Zomg! Unicorns! If a book ever made me want to eat fields full of honeysuckle, this is it.

I don't think the book's lesson on patience was entirely lost on me as a child, but I dwelt mostly on the lovely illustrations and imaginings of princesses and magical fields of magical creatures.

I went through a box of my childhood books the other day and found this one. It was one of my favorites as a little girl and probably started my obsession and love for unicorns! Whenever I would get scared, my mom would read it to me and I would feel better! Great memories! Super sweet for any decade!!

Basic Plot: A princess must learn patience to gain the friendship of a unicorn.

The lessons of the Serendipity books are great. This one was especially well done in teaching a young girl patience. The art, though, is always the real draw. I would spend hours just staring at the pictures in this book in particular. I think it was a combination of fascination with the quality and utter despair that I would never be able to create anything on its level artistically.

Had these when I was little and they were my favorite things, because it involved horses and my name.

I was an easy sell back then just as much as now.

I even still have a few of these (and other from the Serendipity series that weren't Morgan the Unicorn related).

This series of books is the most wonderfully illustrated, sweetest series available for children. Each book is beautiful, the animals are so sweetly drawn and each book teaches a wonderful lesson. I still have all of my original copies from my childhood (the 90s).

Aww, I forgot all about this book until I saw a picture of the cover just now. Used to be one of my faves when I was little. :)
