So you pray every day. You have a standing place and time to spend with God and you rarely miss. Still, if you’re honest, sometimes you just go through the motions. The routine is so familiar you often glide right through it only to discover your mind has been elsewhere. How is that even possible?
Or maybe your prayer life is sputtering on life support, overwhelmed by a slew of unresolved issues like worry, unforgiveness, a lack of trust, or that pesky critical spirit.
Face it. You’re in a prayer rut and you need help.
In Confessions of a Prayer Warrior, Diane Moody offers a fresh new challenge to get you back on track and thriving once again in a deeper relationship with God. Is it challenging? You bet. But for those who persist, the results can be life changing.
So how about it? Ready to take your prayer life to the next level?
Born in Texas and raised in Oklahoma, Diane Hale Moody is a graduate of Oklahoma State University. She lives with her husband Ken in the rolling hills just outside of Nashville. They are the proud parents of two grown and extraordinary children, Hannah and Ben.
Just after moving to Tennessee in 1999, Diane felt the tug of a long-neglected passion to write again. Since then, she's written a column for her local newspaper, feature articles for various magazines and curriculum, and several novels with a dozen more stories eagerly vying for her attention.
When she's not reading or writing, Diane enjoys an eclectic taste in music and movies, great coffee, the company of good friends, and the adoration of a peculiar little pooch named Darby.
The author covers in detail how to develope a relationship with Jesus through prayer and worship. Prayer time should be a time when we get to know Jesus on a very personal level.
Amazing because it was so much more than I expected. For Jesus followers like me, there is so much inspiration found that has me wanting even more in my own prayer life. And for the new Christian or someone wanting to know about becoming a Christian, this book is a true genuine guide to starting a relationship with Jesus through prayer or adding prayers that will strengthen your relationship with Jesus. Diane's wit, humor and true honesty throughout the book is like a light to encourage everyone's walk of life through prayer. I highly recommend!
This was a fantastic sequel to the first book, COPS (Confessions of a Prayer Slacker). I'm still mulling over the points shared, and looking forward to honoring the Lord with my prayer life: consistency, extending the time, and as the author stated, the more time I spend praying and worshipping my Lord, the more I will want to continue! I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book, but it did not in any way affect my review. All opinions are my own.
Diane has a style that is missing in most Christian themed books. She has that bared soul honest writing which almost immediately earns your trust. As she chronicles her own prayer life progress she offers several insights to help her readers have a closer walk with Christ. Chapter 13, Be Still, was one that really hit home with me. I highly recommend you add this to your reading list.
This book helped me to see how i let distractions take my focus away at times. Love the organization of the prayer book. But I love more realizing I need to stop reading so much and spend more time on my knees band listening.
Lame attempt at writing about prayer and the saving power of Jesus Christ our Loving Saviour. He Sacrificed His life so we ALL , THROUGH accepting Jesus Into our Hearts can have LIFE EVERLASTING!!! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK !!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND !!!
I truly enjoyed this book as I am leading a class on Intercessory prayer at our church. She gave such good insight and I look forward to reading “Confessions of a Prayer Slacker.”
This 'sequel' wasn't as impactful as her first one 'Confessions of a Prayer Slacker', but it was still a good reinforcement. Made many references back to her first book.
