Making enemies is easy. Stopping them from killing you is the challenge.
I’m more than just a Grim Reaper, assassin, and demon hunter. I’m also the target of subterfuge.
With plenty of enemies already, by assassinating the Nephilim who stole the First Bowl of Wrath, I’ve now made a powerful one. But I’m not done. The Nephilim are holding their cards close. Protecting someone. Who? Why? What’s everyone hiding?
The First Bowl released a worldwide plague. Nephilim, disguised as monsters straight out of lore and urban legend, terrorize mortals. And now, I’ve got a bigger problem—literally.
Something is wrong in Heaven’s higher echelons. No one knows why God released His newest version of the behemoth. Yeah, that one. Straight out of the good old book.
Armed with nothing more than my Angelfire magic, trusty .327 Ruger, and charming freaking personality, my next job is to take down the overgrown lizard before it stomps around the world like Godzilla going through a bad detox. In the past, this job required teams of angels. This time, it’s just me.
I’ve got an ex I need to mend fences with while also going rogue to uncover who’s tampering with Yahweh’s plague machine before it’s too late for seven billion mortals.
I’ll have to fight like hell to uncover my enemies’ secrets before they put me on the wrong side of death.
Angel’s Creed is book two in the Rev Carver series, an action urban fantasy series by Paul Sating. A spin-off of Paul’s Zodiac Series, Rev Carver has everything you’d expect from the massive urban fantasy world he built there. If you like mythology, folklore, magic, badass assassins, and sidekicks with attitudes to go with a dose of irreverence, put this Grim Reaper on your to-do list.
Paul Sating is a fantasy author and podcaster who spends most of his time traveling the Pacific Northwest in search of elusive monsters everyone claims aren't real.
The creator of the Audio Fiction podcast, Paul began adapting many of those scripts to novel form and published his first three books in 2018. He is now fooling around with his first love--dark fantasy. He writes epic, urban, and even litrpg (a trust jack of all trades and master of none).
He stays grounded by rooting for bad soccer teams, traveling around his beautiful corner of the world, and spending every moment he can with the three people who don't let him think too highly of himself--his wife and daughters.
"Yahweh has manifested a new behemoth. I've seen it in a cell phone video, and it's as ugly as the current music scene."
THAT LINE KILLED ME. I just know Mr. Rev and I would get along great.
He's still funny, and has been developing a good friendship with Billee. So good in fact, that I'm pretty sure they're going to be tied at the hip in future books.
We met Alisha in this one, I like her. BUT, because I'm not a fan of second chance romance I'd rather see Rev with Billee (if he does get with anyone that is).
YOU CAN'T CONVINCE ME THAT THERE'S NOTHING THERE AFTER THAT ENDING!!!!
Speaking of, I NOT prepared for what happened. And I'm glad it got resolved in this one because there's no way I would've survived until the third book. And I'm so so happy it was a good ending, Rev doesn't need any more loss in his life.
I am soooo excited to see the horsemen in action, I'm anticipating an epic battle (or four).
P. S. I cried.
*Thank you to BookSirens for providing me with an e-ARC for which I'm leaving a review voluntarily*
After thoroughly enjoying the first Rev Carver book, I was very much looking forward to a sequel. Suffice it to say, I was not disappointed.
Overworked as ever, Rev has been tasked with tracking down and killing the behemoth currently roaming the Washington woods, preferably before it moves on to somewhere less sparsely inhabited. Plus there's still something rotten going on somewhere high up in Heaven, Billie continues to struggle with having the role of familiar thrust upon her without her consent, and an ex-wife to reconnect with. The Grim Reaper has his work cut out for him.
Like the first book, this was great, action-packed fun with some twists at the end that promise interesting things for the future. Also, it must be said: I greatly enjoy Rev telling the Order where to shove their latest bullshit, every single time. Looking forward to seeing where this series goes, especially if and when it intersects more closely with the Zodiac books.

‘Angel’s Creed’ picks up the baton from ‘Angel Assassin’ and continues the story Rev Carver, head of the reapers, and the council’s rather reluctant Mr. White; so if you haven’t read Assassin yet I highly suggest you read that first.
This book will keep fans and new readers alike captivated until the final page, as Rev goes monster hunting in the Olympic National Park. No thanks to the politics of the heavenly council, and some meddling from high up in the ranks, Rev’s blood pressure could cook ramen noodles and anyone that gets in his way could end up as a side dish.
This eARC was given to me from Booksirens.com and I am providing an unbiased review. This is the second book in the Rev Carter series, and I am glad to see it continue on! The story takes off pretty much from the first novel, so it would not read well as a stand-alone novel. Rev Carter has learned much more in this installment, being able to delegate some of his duties as Prime Reaper, which frees up more time to search for the behemoth that is loose in Pacific NW, and try to find out who released it. I liked how the story flowed, and have enjoyed Rev's character building from the start. His personality is one I could get along with. There is some more relationship building between he and his 'partner', as some of the dialogue in this book helps explain part of Rev's past, and duties of his partner. We also learn more of Rev's ex-wife, whom also makes an appearance in the story. Overall, I am enjoying this series, and look forward to hopefully a few more books, rather than tying it all off in a small trilogy. The writing was done where one could easily lose their self into the story, and quickly read through it.

Received the audiobook version from the author that's beautifully done by narrator Richard McLarn.
Received as an ARC, this is an honest review. For Rev Carver, is job as the Dealer Minister means every job he's tasked to fulfill is only one step from totally insanity. If it's not an asshole drug dealer unwilling to just follow the rules at the end of their life. Now Rev's superiors have handed the man with the epic shit of the task of chasing a monstrous behemoth deep within the Olympic mountains. Calling upon those he previous " influenced " to aid him, Rev knows time in running out before this creature does some epic damage upon humanity; and will do what he can to protect those involved, no matter what Rev has to sacrifice. Interwoven beautifully is the slow broiling trouble in the Upper world that will only likely cause both danger for Heaven and the mortal realm. Angel's Creed is the gorgeous sequel to Angel Assassin, a journey of wit through the eyes of jaded man who has a golden heart you want to love. Highly recommended.
Book 2 and wow does Paul Sating tell a story. Rev the Grim Reaper Minister , assassin, bad ass with a soft side a great side kick. Saving the world and trying to deal with Angel politics. A very different take on the relationship between Angels and certainly between Angels, Demons & us mere mortals. Enjoy book 2 of what’s going to be a seriously epic series
Excellent read. Love the character development and relationship dynamics. Who has control of the behemoth? Where is it hiding? Can Rev find it in time to stop it? Billie is still coming to grips with being a familiar. What is happening with Yahweh and can anything be done to fix the chaos?Excellent read. Audiobook: I was entertained by book two as much as the first one in this series. I followed with bated breath the tortuous path that the Grim Reaper used in order to accomplish his newest mission. I liked all the machinations that kept the plot moving forward. I thought the Grim Reaper and his circle of helpers were intriguing characters. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Richard McLarn's narration was fine. I was gifted a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which included my honest opinions regarding this story.
