Mountain Man Apprentice: Wild Dogs: A Mountain Man Adventure

Rate this book
Adam “Grizz” James and Brick Hammer are at home in the Rocky Mountains as the end of winter nears. They hear scratching at the door, grab their weapons, and prepare themselves. A dog seeking shelter from a pack of wolves is on the other side. They shoot the wolves and shelter Lola, the abandoned dog.

When Lola has a puppy, Brick is overwhelmed by his new friend. Lola had taken to Grizz that first day. Both mountain men instantly fall in love with their new dogs. Now, everywhere they go, they have their four-legged friends with them.

When a Blackfoot war party seeks to stop Jimmy White Bear from building a homestead on Grizz’s mountain, everybody’s world is thrown into turmoil—especially that of Victoria Brandyberry. The home she had dreamt of may go up in flames.

Then, Brick Hammer is kidnapped and threatened by the same Blackfeet Indians that are after Jimmy for killing so many members of their tribe. The war party is only a few miles from White Bear’s homestead, and they demand nothing less than Jimmy White Bear’s life!

Ash Lingam was born and raised in Southern Ohio, not far from the mighty Ohio River. He had somewhat of an isolated upbringing on a family farm with his sisters. His best friends were his horse, Sugar, and his grandfather.
Born in 1886, the family patriarch grew crops, raised cattle, and doted on the young boy. At his grandfather’s side, Ash learned about livestock and firearms at an early age. His grandad carried an old Colt with him at all times, helping spawn a young boy’s dreams of yesteryear.
Ash was only eight years old when his grandad taught him how to trap muskrats to prevent them from draining the farm’s ponds. He gave him a double-barreled shotgun at twelve and taught him how to hunt to put food on the table.
It wasn’t long before Ash was breaking horses. His spirited Tennessee Walker never allowed any other rider on her back. Together, they searched through the plowed fields in the spring, looking for Miami Indian arrowheads to add to his grandfather’s ample collection.
Ash’s family was among the early settlers in pre-Revolutionary America. He has traced his lineage back to around 1746 when his ancestors immigrated from Europe to the aspiring American Colonies.
A retired marketing executive, Ash devotes his spare time to training police dogs and writing novels. He has found his niche in the Western, historical fiction, and adventure genres. With his vast vault of experience, he never runs out of sources for new stories. He has lived in eleven different countries and worked in a total of forty-six,
To date, Ash has written approximately 130 novels, short stories, and poems. More than one hundred of his eclectic titles help the American frontier come alive for his readers.

One of the best in this outstanding series of our old western adventures!

Always worthy of five stars when Hammer and Gross get together to settle their current problems encountering their Indian adversaries! No slow downsides to this fascinating series of unending excitement!
The storylines definitely keeps you turning the pages,as this deadly duo, and their associates, pulls no punches in their quest for freedom! Too, the Author's character selections were, as always, perfectly selected for their death defying roles!
Definitely recommend this fascinating series of unending excitement to all readers, but you western adventures fanatics will enjoy riding along with this fanatical group of individuals! Try it! You'll love it!!!😃

Another great story in the series. Not the best but better than the last. I would seriously recommend this book as well as the entire series to read. It is very worthwhile.
