She greeted me with a cheery smile for years, but other than nodding back, I treated her just like I do all my employees…like she’s invisible.
I’m not an asshole. I swear. I’ve learned that to thrive in a family built for chaos, I need the rest of the world to disappear into the background. I’ve divided everything up into two categories: Matters and Doesn’t Matter.
But in one short meeting, everything changes. Janey’s now at the very top of the Matters category. And coming from a man that’s never even been on a date, that’s saying a lot. She’s all I think about. All I dream about. I want her.
I want to be her husband.
I thought I could wait. I thought I could woo her slowly. But when she goes missing, I realize I’m done waiting.
So I propose…literally. Marry me for one year, and you don’t have to struggle anymore. I thought it was a long shot. I thought she’d say no.
I was wrong.
Now she’s mine. But can I convince her to make this marriage real? Or will she walk away with my heart at the end of a year?
I have waited for Jonas and Janey since she first popped up in the series. I just knew they were perfect together. Jonas has alway been my favorite Brash Brother. Him and Ransom. I’m so happy we got his story. I’ve had it secured on my calendar for months and months but was surprised it came out early. Like the last book. Thank you!
Janey and Jonas are unique and amazing. This story was written with grace and care. Jenna is an amazing author and had quickly been one of my top 5 authors. This is an extremely slow 🔥 burn and the spice is low like a 1 outta 5 IMO. The found family aspect is the most spectacular example I’ve ever read. This Brash family has imprinted in my ♥️. Janey was difficult and wishy washy AF for a lot of the book but thank goodness she got it together. I didn’t think I would think anyone was good enough for our Jonas. But they helped each other. And it was beautiful.
Also, the pedicure scene….oh my gawd…I laughed so hard I peed my pants! Literally! The meal time chaos is still in full effect too. Which is always hilarious.
And I was scared about John aka Joker and his transition back but thank goodness it all seems to be working out well for everyone. I really hope it continues to. I want him to get his HEA in all ways. I need him to feel loved and that he belongs.
We still have a few brothers left, and I swear I’m not gonna email Jenna again about Ransom…I swear, ok maybe just once more. Daddy Ransom is getting restless and needs his HEA already! He deserves it. We deserve it! I’m trying so hard to be patient, I promise I am. But please hurry Jenna!
This book …I am so stingy with 5 ⭐️ ratings but it’s a five for me. I devoured it, then got sad as I plowed through it that that meant I was almost done so I had to slow down, but then I needed more!
If you haven’t read the series yet start at the beginning trust me, it’s one of my favorite series ever. And for a new author she is amazing. But Jenna fyi after we get all the brothers stories please know we will need a final book, an extended novella maybe at least 200 pages of checking in with the whole family and what their relationship is like and hopefully babies…so many babies for everyone!
I’ve been so excited to get to Jonas’ story! I thoroughly appreciated the depiction of Jonas being neurodivergent and being PROUD of it! His no-nonsense personality is EVERYTHING. Is the book well written? Meh, it’s okay. Is it worth reading? Absolutely. Am I obsessed? Definitely!
This was incredibly entertaining; however, there was definitely a lot of "trashy" to this story. Like, it's not the kind of book I'm proud of, but I had so much fun reading.
1. The heroine is dumb. Now, I feel a little bad saying that because she says that about herself a LOT and I hate self-deprecation. But stay with me. She's got dyslexia and has a hard time learning. Because she grew up in an unsafe environment, she's gotten really good at reading people. The hero and all the good people around her tell her she's amazing. Her bosses at work promote her and tell her that she's got a special gift and they want her to use it to help their employees. They make her the head of HR and tell her to use her minions for the stuff she's bad at. That's cool and I loved how she keeps getting exposed to seeing how great she is. Her self-deprecation got old REAL fast. But there is some learning there so that was all right. But this has NO BEARING ON HOW DUMB SHE IS!
In the beginning of the book, the hero notices her light seems to have gone out and he doesn't know why she's unhappy. Turns out this woman who is the HEAD OF HR came home one day to find out her boyfriend had left and taken all of her money, gotten her evicted from her apartment, and took out credit in her name. What does she do? Does she call the police? NO!
She sells her car to try to pay off some of the debt and then lives in homeless shelters for a month. And on the pivotal day that the hero finally gets worried about her, she leaves her coat and phone charger at the office and DOESN'T go back there to get them even when she's rejected from the shelter that night!
Uh, what!? Make that make sense. She's the HEAD OF HR at a billions dollar company! I was yelling at her for several chapters.
2. The hero is AWESOME and I think he made me keep reading and be entertained more than I was frustrated by the heroine (and the author's choices). He's never met a woman he wanted before Janey. You know what this means!? He's a virgin! Yes! I love me a virgin hero.
And he's been pining after Janey. All of his friends and family know he's in love with Janey (except Janey). He's so adorable in how he wants to do everything for her. I loved him so much.
He's on the autism spectrum. Not sure how accurate the portrayal was, but I loved him. He was a delight.
3. The family of brothers was fun. I'll probably try the other books in this series because they were just so much fun to read. I love a group of supportive and loving men.
---- All in all, this book was higher stars because of the growth, the side characters, and the amazing hero. The heroine and her self-worth issues were a bit exhausting.
Safety deets - Heroine has been with other men, including the douchebag that scammed her. Hero gets a little jealous of her enjoying other men's company, but there are no other men. - Hero is a virgin. - We see them happy and settled together by the end... and Janey starts seeing herself in a better light. Phew!

This series is awesome, love it. Jonas is an enigma in a band of brothers that are loud & in your face. His dry sense of humour & sweet personality make him a heart tugger & his quiet love for Janey is really sweet. This book had so many laugh out loud moments in an otherwise serious setting that it lifted the spirits. Definitely recommend.
The series is still good which is amazing given this is book 6. The characters in the series are so refreshing. I’m looking forward to reading the next series.
This series has been a great, all the books thus far I’ve given a quick four stars. The relationships between the brothers and the women that enter their lives, with each journey being so unique have been wonderful to read. Now we get to Jonas. Not sure if it’s because he “speaks plainly” or that you get into his mind as he processes the world that made me fall a little faster for him than his brothers. He knows what he wants and goes after it. What he wants is Janey. Janey has a complicated history and while at first you see her as a victim as you go further shes actually a survivor. It was amazing how we need to be reminded that how we see ourselves isn’t always the most authentic view. These two have serious chemistry and seeing the relationship grow and the family interaction makes this a fantastic read. If you are into gorgeous, flawed, self made men falling hard and fast for real, unconventional, strong partners, this series is a must read. I can’t recommend it enough. Your only disappointment will be waiting for the next brother.
The only reason I’m still reading these is because I’m hoping some where down the line these books start improving. They have only become more boring since boo 3. Honestly book 2 was the peak. Now im just bored. I can finish a book in a day or 2 easy, book 3 to 6 took me about 2 weeks or longer to finish because they are just all the same. Miscommunication or zero communication, assumptions, no connection - saying slow burn is an understatement, you go into these knowing that sex will only happen the last 50 pages, theres no action, theres no drama. Im a girl and even I’m getting annoyed with the level of “emotional” going on. Im finding myself screaming in my head “STFU and get on with it”
This was one of my favorites of the series. No third act breakup. Janey works in HR at Brash and her recent boyfriend cheated her out of her money (also has a terrible brother and dead beat dad) and home. Jonas, on the ASD spectrum, is lovely kind insanely smart and in love w Janey. He realizes she’s in trouble/homeless, finds her, and convinces her to marry him to save her from her terrible family. Her brother threatened to have her institutionalized. The story is of them learning to love and trust each other. Good communication, honest emotions, v sweet portrayal of a neuro different hero. Love. Weirdly dramatic but also perfect. This series is one of my absolute favorites.
Oh, how can I count the ways in which I loved this book??
I've been patiently waiting for Jonas (and Janey), practically since I have picked up the series. Jonas quiet demeanor and speak his mind bluntness, paired with his obsession with Janey was sure to be a good time!
I'd like to start by saying that I am immensely happy that Jenna took the chance to write a romance like this from the perspective, and involving an on the Autism Spectrum individual. People like Jonas are generally side characters in others romance stories...the ones that the FMC or MMC are tasked with taking care of. And while a little of that was addressed in Zach's book (with Zach having been Jonas's protective older brother), it was really special to see Jonas in his own light, in his own book.
Further from that, you have Jonas and Janey together...I mean talk about perfection. Janey's not all that kind to herself...but life hasn't really given her a reason to be. All Jonas wants to do is make her see herself through his eyes, but given his autism and the brain to mouth filter he does not possess, sometimes that is more difficult than Joans realizes. But even in the difficult moments, the way these two communicated with each other...direct, open, honest...that's what every relationship should be. While I've read the other books, and like all the other men and their girls, something made me feel like Jonas and Janey were real...like theirs would be the love to last it all.
My only complaint...and it's so minor...is that I wanted it to be a little longer. And that's for two main reasons. 1)I wanted the extended version of the confrontation between the brothers and Keith and Mark. I wanted to see them mess those boys up and hear the threats they were issued for all the things they did to Janey. I wanted to hear how Declan found Keith...and what they did to ensure he'd never do that to someone else. 2) Simply, I wanted more Jonas and Janey time. Some other characters were not as involved in this book (*cough Cara cough*) and I was okay with that...but I do hope to continue to actively see Jonas and Janey in the last remaining books. I need continued glimpses, just to know they are alright.
CW: abuse, alcoholism (historic), death of parents (historic), attempted sexual assault, con men, kidnapping, homelessness, virgin
Jonas is the autistic financial genius of the Brash brothers. He made his first million during college instead of going to class. He tries to shut out the world as much as possible to limit meltdowns and overstimulation. So it's not surprising that he doesn't notice Janey until one of his brothers brings her to everyone's attention as an empath.
Janey has been working at reception for some time when she helps Colton solve the mystery of who has been stealing from the company. She is highly intuitive from a lifetime of needing to people please. People come to her with their problems and she can spot when people are sad or upset. Now the head of HR, she gets conned out of all of her assets by a man she thought she was in love with and trusted. She loses her apartment and has to stay in homeless shelters.
When Jonas finally figures what is going on, he witnesses Janey's brother abuse her. He steps in and offers her a contract marriage to give him a chance to make her fall in love with him and give her protection from her brother. This book had many funny moments, like the others. It was interesting that the virgin in this case was the fully grown man, which was a refreshing change of pace. I also really liked seeing Janey's reconciliation with her father.
What I didn't like so much was Jonas's insistence on an immediate marriage. I get that he's already in love with her, but at the end of the day, they didn't need to get married in order to protect her from her brother. I was also highly unhappy with Janey's insistence of keeping all of her problems to herself and not even considering telling anyone, even one of the women. At the very least she could have asked for a payday advance to help with more secure housing and food. As the director of HR she should make plenty of money to afford a hotel room for a while. So that part didn't make much sense to me.
Another fun installment in this series and I really did like the two of them together in the end.
I didn’t… not like this book. But I just feel like it doesn’t hold the same impact as the earlier ones. I would say Jonas and Janey’s story was more anticipated. We could see it all the way back in Colton’s book. We watched both Jonas and Janey go through things on the peripheral.
I liked Janey with the other women. She had always had a good friendship with Maya, and Cara for that matter, but it was nice to see her cultivate those relationships with those women. It was interesting to see how she could read people and their needs.
And I love Jonas. I love that he is blunt and doesn’t dance around topics. He just comes out with things in some refreshing honesty. I like how much he cares about his family and makes strides to protect them.
I just… didn’t really like them together. Janey’s constant people pleasing was annoying AF when it came to Jonas. Their chemistry together was almost nonexistent and for as often as Jonas gets mad when people treat him like a child who doesn’t know his own mind, he low key does the same to Janey.
I also get really frustrated with the spice in her books. She constantly paints this amazing chemistry, this immaculate tension, this promise of some of the hottest, dirtiest sex and then…. Doesn’t deliver at all. I would almost prefer the fade to black than a lackluster open door. All this talk about how Jonas has basically been reading up and researching, a man who has singleminded focus, who is constantly telling her how well he’ll please her, and all we get is a barely described quickie on a counter? It’s so frustrating. Either give me more or leave it totally out.
I’m only half heartedly interested in Nick and Bree, which doesn’t bode well for their book, but I’m supremely interested in John and Abby, so IDK. Not sure when/if I’ll read the next one. Mostly I’m interested to see how things are gonna go with Ransom.
I was nervous about reading this book in the series. Jonas has a special place in my heart and I was so scared I wouldn't like his book. Luckily, being in Jonas' head was lovely. He is just as endearing and at times completely frustrating as he is portrayed in the other books. Except, now I have a better understanding on how his mind works and why he fixates on certain things like her does. It is nice too that Maya seems to be clued in to what Jonas needs.
How Janey and Jonas manage to get together is certainly unorthodox but I liked how his solution to her problems was her best option at the time. I understand why Janey didn't tell anyone at Brash about her issues, that was the catalyst for the entire book. But I did feel like it was off brand for her character since she knew the brothers, and Cara, cared for her based on other conversations in previous books and how she got her promotion in the first place. It doesn't fit that she wouldn't come to them for help simply based on embarrassment at being taken advantage off. Especially since she knows what Declan does! But setting that aside for the sake of the storyline, I did find it hard at times to accept Janey's treatment of Jonas too, when she knows he HAS to help her. And of course, clear communication would clear up a lot of the issues in their relationship.
However, their story was still so fun and as always, the brothers, and now wives/girlfriends, interference in everything is a frustration/hilarious side effect to these books as they continue on. The gang is getting bigger and more obnoxious and I love it.
I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it. It’s an interconnected stand-alone and I did okay having not read the previous books.
Things I liked: I loved the character list at the beginning of the book. It definitely helped since there were so many characters in the book. Dual POV is my favorite but I especially liked it here. Jonas is not your typical hero and I loved seeing inside his head. Jonas was so sweet and I loved how he knew himself and his own mind no matter what others thought. The found family vibe is strong in this story and I enjoyed that dynamic a lot. I also appreciated that there was no ridiculous third act breakup. The relationship between Janey and Jonas progressed and even though there were misunderstandings and struggles, they worked through them like reasonable adults.
Things that I didn’t like: There were several editing errors. One chapter seemed to have an especially large number. It didn’t really detract from understanding the story but they were still noticeable to me. I also would have preferred a touch more excitement and conflict particularly with the Mark/Keith storylines. The bonus scene was excellent and should have definitely been included and possibly expanded upon in the book.
Overall it was a great read and I’m glad that I read it.
This fucking book had me cracking up so many different times. It was awesome. And the story itself was great. I wasn’t sure if I would like it or not, to be honest, but I really, really did. I could sympathize with the lack of worth and insecurities that Janey struggled with, the author did an awesome job painting that picture. They were very much on point. It was interesting the way she showed Jonas as very analytical in his thinking (on EVERYTHING) but still managed to instill him with an overflowing well of emotions. You knew, right from the beginning, his feelings for Janey. He was so patient with her, and pushed where he needed to, but was always very patient and supportive… and stubborn to get his way. That man was sneaky in certain aspects. I approved lol I absolutely adored the relationship all the brothers have with each other, and as mentioned earlier, it had me laughing (hysterically a couple of times with the imagery) numerous times with their antics. I’ll admit I would have liked to know how certain people got their comeuppance but all-in-all, this was a great read and I am highly anticipating the next brother’s story.
I am beyond obsessed with the Brash Brother series. The found family vibes are superiorly delivered and I fall more in love with these hilarious, tender, heartbreaking characters with each new book.
Jonas was so highly anticipated for me and he didn’t disappoint. Watching Janey fall for Jonas was so satisfying, and watching Jonas struggle with Janey’s uncertainties in the face of his fierce love was inspiring.
I honestly have no words (as usual) for how wonderful it felt to read Jonas. He was a man obsessed and unapologetic for his feelings and his truths, he was patient, and unforgiving to any who would see Janey harmed even if it were Janey herself doing the harming. Janey’s struggles with their relationship were sincere and watching her realize it was okay to be herself, that it was okay to have good things and be happy was a truly wonderful experience.
I adored the neurodivergent representation. I’m obsessed with John, I’m aching for Ransom, and my heart is already breaking for Nick and Bree.
I have been waiting for Jonas’ book and I was not disappointed! I don’t give 5 stars freely so read this knowing that I truly loved Jonas and his story. There were a few things I didn’t like BUT they were so minor that I was able to immediately look over them. Well to be honest, it was mostly just annoyance with Janey at times. But she easily redeemed herself quickly the few times she bothered me. And really she was great but Jonas’ character is one of my favorite H’s so I had a lot of high expectations for her and of course nobody is as perfect as he is. 😂
There were several times where I laughed out loud and read a scene over again because it was just too cute or funny. This book seemed lighter than the other books and for that I am happy. There were a few small grammatical errors that I noticed here and there but it wasn’t consistent and I could tell it was just an accidental letter or word erased.
Although I know nobody can top Jonas for me I can’t wait for Nick’s book.
I was really looking forward to Jonas and Janey, and the style of Ms Myles is there but this one did not feel as robust as it could of been. I love neurodiverse characters and Jonas and Janet both delivered, but it felt like the author was holding back on some of Jonas’ well known quirks. Several places I was wanting more conversation with Zach who knows Jonas the best, or acknowledgement of how janey will have to accommodate Jonas in ways that Maybe inconvenient.
Anyway it seems like the cast of this family has become a bit unwieldy- with 14+ people now- the author feels the need to interact with them All and prep for the next book or 2- to the detriment of our couple. It would be fine for more characters to be in the background or only appear once. Or be on vacation.
we only get 2 spicy scene and from only Jonas POV. I feel like the past books had more spice OR were better spaced/ in depth. I hope this isnt the trend This one should of been my favorite. I am disappointed it wasn’t.
I really thought that I was going to like this book a lot, but unfortunately it wasn’t the case. I couldn’t connect with the characters and how things progressed between them. Despite finding the whole found family dynamics very interesting, the story between those two didn’t kept me engaged as much. I was kind of more curious about the other side characters than anything else. The main characters didn’t seem to have as much chemistry as I hoped for. Despite having a very good MMC, that was obsessed with FMC, their relationship just wasn’t that interesting. I really believe they had a lot of potential together, but there was so much happening around them, that they ended up not being the focus most of the time. It was my first book by Jenna Myles and sadly it wasn’t a hit for me. Her writing was still quite good and easy to read, despite me not loving this story in particular. I might give it another chance in the future, but it will basically depend on my mood and how interesting the other stories might seem.
I was really looking forward to Jonas and Janey's story and it did not disappoint! Jonas, as we all know from reading the previous Brash Brothers stories, is delightful. Janey is a perfect partner to balance him. While the author could've gone for another "quirky" on the spectrum character I'm glad she didn't, as I feel it would have been a narrow way to look at Jonas, our MC. Some authors would tend towards a one dimensional view of a character on the autism spectrum, but Jonas is well described and varied in his personality. Janey's personal struggles are also fleshed out as an integral part of the story, which leads to some amazing suspense! And spice? oh definitely! As with Jenna Myles other Brash Brothers books there is lots on interplay between the brothers and their partners. Which is so so good! If you're new to this series, don't deprive yourself of the previous books, as for me I'm impatiently waiting for Nick and Bee's story!
Zach's story was almost a pain to read through, it was just a book I forced myself to read so i wouldn't be lost when I finally read Jonas. And oooohhh. Yes, it delivers. So good. I've been so excited to read Jonas since Colton and it doesn't disappoint! I love Janey so much!
How the hell does Jenna write such relatable characters? Thankfully I've not been abused or anything, but the insecurities these characters go through are so....real. I can feel it through the pages. I feel so seen. And Jonas- oh sweet sweet Jonas. Out of all the FMCs in the series, I wish I was Janey.
Id give it 5* but idk, it kinda feels like the ball has been dropping a bit after Declan. Theres not really a plot? Just a looooot of insecurity after insecurity. So maybe dont read the books back to back, i say. Take a break. Especially after Zach’s books since im still not so keen on Maya.
But Jonas is still one of my favourites, hes very honest and endearing!
As someone on the spectrum myself, I felt so comfortable with Jonas, and his reactions and behaviours towards all the many and varied situations he managed to cope with.
He was super lucky to grow up with such wonderfully supportive brothers, too and, as the women start gathering within the lives of them all, I really loved his individual reactions towards each of them.
I spent quite a lot of time laughing out loud at ALL the Brash Brothers reactions to each of the women, but especially Becca and Evie! Lol
I was so happy that Jenna has written a Bonus Scene with Jonas and Janey, as I wasn't quite ready to say goodbye to their story, as yet - and such a wonderful story it is, too.
So I'm going to download it onto my Kindle, to read it now, before I go on to Book Seven: 'Nick', to read his and Bree's story, next.
Once I've done so, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think about it!
This book was adorable. I really loved Jonas and that is why I skipped to this one in the series because I wanted to see his story.
Jonas is autistic and he doesn't have time for anyone outside of his family in his already chaotic and overwhelming life. Until he meets Janey. He decides that he is in love with her and since he is neurodivergent, they have to get married so he can go right to proving to her that he will be a good husband without having to risks the social missteps involved in dating.
This was such a good story. It wasn't super well-written but it was just so cozy and I could not get enough of Jonas. He was so willing to break his own heart to try to make Janey fall in love with him. He was absolutely adorable. I loved that all he wanted was Janey's happiness and that she was the only one who he constantly wanted in his space and was okay with touching him.
This was just such a cozy read. I don't know if I would reread this book but I enjoyed it so much.
This was an adorable book. I loved all the characters and laughed more times than I can count.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and whenever I need a funny palate cleanser I will come back for sure.
The relationships between all the characters was incredible. I loved the brotherhood and sisterhood. Jonas was a refreshing MC. I’ve never read a book with an autistic main character and this was eye opening and consuming.
I hated the spice though. The spice was talked up to be this hot and filthy anticipation but we only get one full scene and it’s just a counter quickie. It wasn’t hot in any way and this was severely underwhelming and the reason I won’t just binge the series. I need a minimum of three peppers in my romance stories and this was maybe a 1 1/2. The plot and couple was cute though.
Also the writing, the author got some names mixed up a few times. Her brother’s name is Mark but gets called Matt in one chapter.
This was a very beautiful story, very well written, lots of laughs and very few tears.I really got a kick in part of the story where Jonas had to do the peepee dance and where one the boys had to go behind a plant to past gas.For Jonas and Janey it was a struggle for both of them, for him he wasnt sure what he could to help her,but he love her so much and he wasn't going to give up no matter what. For Janey she was hurt from he brother and father but she fines out he change his life for better and they were able to talk and fine each other again and she was also hurt by a boyfriend who used her, steals money, gets her evicted and other b things that make it she doesn't trust men.But slowly between Jonas and Janey they began to trust and communicate between them ,then found love! Everyone should read this book, you won't be disappointed!
Colton may be my favorite brother of the bunch, but Jonas now comes in a close second.
Honestly, I loved just about every second of this story. I loved Jonas and Janey. I loved that we go so much of the family again. I actually laughed out loud multiple times at their antics.
I think my only problems with this story (and therefore the 4.5 rating instead of a 5, even though I rounded up for Goodreads) lied with Janey's problems with her family and ex. Particularly towards the end. It felt like all of that took to the back burner for so long, and then when it was brought back up it was solved and over with very fast. Like, they were the problems that started the story, but then they quickly became basically non-issues as far as we were concerned.
Jonas and Haney K-I-S-S-I-N-G!! 4.6*****/5 Spoiler Alert
Jonas Kai Lee, neurodivergent Brash Brother of Zach, fell in love the first moment he met Janey in Ransom's office. He actively wooed her, then rescued her from her abusive brother Mark, by marrying her after she was conned by Keith into homelessness. Her social emotional calming, reducing skills rocked this group, while her HR position at BB was perfectly assigned to her by Ransom. They both slow realized their love for each as Jonas deduced she was dyslexic. HEA for two, once the Bros educated Keith and Mark, as Janey and her Dad reunited. Holly and Micah are onto the third BB cousin, with Mia still holding all her uncle's hearts. A Must-Read for honest in relationships, while learning one's self-worth. Totally gravity defying!!
