The pressure is on for Julie and Taylor to get their next recruit and prove that a human has what it takes to make it in the paranormal world.

Their assignment takes them to the Midwest and…beyond, and Julie finds herself drawn into vampire drama thanks to her growing friendship with Malcolm Nox.

A jealous fiancée is one thing, but one with fangs?

Julie’s plan to bag a high-value recruit has a hitch in the tail.

The centaur they traveled to visit won’t leave his ranch. Can Julie and Taylor pull victory from the jaws of defeat and help Cironius in the process?

Success will get Captain Kaplan off their backs. They’re going to need him in a good mood when he finds out they’ve gone against his orders to stay out of the Yeti problem…

A long time ago I was born in Los Angeles. That's where I spent many of my formative years. After I became an adult, I moved around for a bit before ending up in a small town in Oregon, very similar to Bailey's hometown. Greenhearth is fake, if you haven't already Googled that, but it's like many small towns with less than 1,000 people.

My pets...
I love animals, especially my two even if they do create havoc in my daily life. I have a cat, named Snowstorm, Storm for short. Then I have a rescue, Josephine. She's a Labradoodle - I think. It's hard to say but it's the best I can come up with.

What I'm working on...
I'm already working on the next book in the series - was working on it before Bad Attitude came back from editing. And now that it has released, need to stay on track with A Bit Aggressive.

Recruiter is book two in the Para-Military Recruiter series by Renée Jaggér & Michael Anderle.

Things pick off shortly after book one. It’s another fast-paced adventure. Once again the only thing Taylor and Julie are trying to do is recruit more Paranormals to the agency.

We are starting to get more glimpses into the paranormal world and what goes on. The Yeti’s area causing problems and know-one knows why; since they are gentile creatures. And, so we are starting to see that there is more than meets the eye.

Taylor is shaping up to be a great partner, Hat is so much fun, and Kaplan is still intimidating.

Recruiter is another fast paced on the go adventure. It’s fun, fast, and full of interesting characters.

Somehow I forgot to add this to Goodreads recently. Maybe because the mom of the protagonist is annoying and sometimes these conversations in the book are odd. The mom suggests her daughter become a stripper multiple times. At times the conversations seem like filler instead of progressing the story or to be interesting.
The series is ok but it pulls you out of the flow with inane dialogue.

I received this Audiobook for free. My opinions are my own.

Real Rating = 3.75 (is better than the last and I will definitely be continuing)

GOOD: I like the developing connections among the various characters. I especially like the care that the central group take of each other. A favorite scene was when Lillie distracts Julie's mom so she can get away for awhile. / And I like the insistance on finding new recruits who can actually be benefited by signing up (although I am a touch concerned that things might be going too easy).

BAD: I still really dislike her Mom and fast forward her as much as possible. / If Taylor's brother keeps it up, he will turn out to be the same. / I struggled with the portions where she, though not in so many words, insists on her right to be an idiot and not listen to anyone's advice (I had to remind myself she just turned 19 a week or so ago).

CONTENTS: A bit less language than the last one (and still no F words) / A bit less of her mother's bad advice for living

NARRATION: I felt much more comfortable this time (ie less distracted by the fact that it is the same narrator as another series). I feel like she is doing a good job of capturing the personality of the various individuals. / Speed is good. / She is mis-pronouncing one side character's name. The book explains how to pronounce it about halfway thru, so hopefully she will switch for the next one.

Julie has survived her initial week as a recruiter with the PMA but both her and Taylor are under pressure to get new members.
Things aren’t quiet in the city, there is a Yeti problem that they must stay away from – that doesn’t work as she helps capture one. Unfortunately, the Yeti escapes before it can be interrogated.
She has been invited to the hand-fasting of Malcom and his fiancé - a black-tie affair that Taylor is her plus one and buying her a ball gown (he thinks it will annoy his parents), and they still need new recruits. And her landlord, Lillie, isn’t acting normal.
After a successful recruiting trip to Montana, Julie still manages to get into trouble though.
This book has some action, interesting story, and a lot of humour. I’m really liking the growth of Julie, Taylor and even Malcom. Hat is fantastic.
This is a quick, easy, enjoyable read. The descriptions of the paranormal world and those who inhabit it make me want more.

I'm breezing through these books! Once again all they are trying to do is recruit more Paras for their military but it's still somehow really interesting!

We are getting more of a glimpse into the paranormal world and what goes on in that world. I'm really excited to see more of it in the next books. Also I'm starting to get an idea that there's more than meets the eye to what I'm reading. I have a feeling we'll discover more in the next book. I'm excited for what's to come and more adventures of Julie, Genevieve and Hat!

(Also still no romance so don't read this series for any romance because at this point that's not the focus, plus she's only 19! Who cares about romance and finding her forever lol let her have her adventures!)

I was moderately intrigued by the first book in the series-human in a paranormal world? Why not? This particular theme has hit all the right buttons with me in the past. However...
In the first book, Julie shows situational awareness while she's walking at night. In this book, Julie charges in after an unknown amount of enemies in an unknown area, despite having no weapons and no practical experience. Perhaps this is supposed to just be a factor of her age-she celebrates her 19th birthday in book one-but I have a hard time imagining the girl from the first book choosing such stupid actions in the second.
I made it 95% of the way through (I really hate quitting), put it down to do something, and just will not pick it back up again.

It’s All In The Nose

PMARecruiter2

Julie Meadows is liking life on the paranormal “wild” side. Learning to spar, using her knowledge and matching it to the orb information is exciting and exasperating by turns. She and Taylor Woodskin did such a fine job with Ellie, that their captain is raising the bar.

Hat is enjoying his freedom to explore the world as it is now; reveling in being an essential part of the team. It is such a contrast to his time in service before.

But, the Yeti issue is growing in scope and menace. Especially, because their behavior is so uncharacteristic. At least now, it is acknowledged as a problem.

Who wants to destabilize the paradigm of three hundred fifty years of peace? Must. Keep. Reading.

'Recruiter' followed on from 'Drafted' very smoothly, and kept Julie's story moving on at a great pace.

I'm really enjoying the relationships that Julie is developing with Hat, Taylor, Max, Lillie, and even her Mum. Then there's her Boss, Captain Kaplan!

The various characters in the story are hilarious, like Max 's Sire, Julius Nox, and his Plants.

But I'm really loving how all of the various magical characters are described.

Renee Jagger 's take on this is entertaining, funny, complex, and highly believable! lol

This book thoroughly entertained me, so I'm going straight on to Book 3: 'Accepted', to see how things go for Julie and all the people she's connected to!

So, once I've finished reading 'Accepted', I'll catch you at the flipside, to let you know what I think of it!

Deeper down the rabbit hole we go.

Julie is coming to grips with her new reality, and I’m enjoying this fly on the wall look into her world. Taylor is shaping up into a great partner, and Kaplan is still a little intimidating. Those darned Yeti’s are still causing problems, and it’s now become clear that there is more to this than meets the eye. Enjoyed the heck out of this. It’s fun, fast paced and full of interesting characters. Highly recommendif you enjoy K.M. Shea, or Lindsay Buroker.

A Great Read

I wonder how I would react to all the magical creatures and a visit to Avalon? Maybe all Harry Potter and Galaxy Quest fans would respond the same and shout out, "I knew they were real!" I admire Julie jumping in to help friends, but night walks in bad neighborhoods is always a sign of slow thinking. A great read with lots of adventures. And I am waiting for magical Genevieve to declare herself. Think about it, running perfectly after being in "dry dock" for years. That is truly magical.

Yeti mystery

Julie and Taylor are working on bringing in more recruits for the agency, and Julie is learning more about the new paranormal world that she has stumbled into. Julie, Hat and her friends are also curious as to why the Yeti are attacking people and acting so much out if character. This is a really good series and I am looking forward to more books to find out the answers to the mysteries.

These remind me a lot of KM Shea's Magiford books, but with a tiny bit more language. Similarly squeaky clean, youthful main characters with a can-do attitude and mentors who don't act as the expected wise guides and authority figures.

I like this series (on the third now). They're quick to read and follow. I didn't realize the main character was quite so young when I picked the book up. Middle school me would have loved this.

Wow

OMG what a book! This series keeps getting better and better. And the ending I can't wait to find out what Julius knocks once with Julia. Has something happened to Malcolm? Why is he there? I do hate Cliffhangers. This is pretty cool I can't believe they traveled to Avalon to get her dress from Malcolm's wedding. And how can she and your human go hunting yetis and survive. You think there's more to Julie than we know I can't wait to find out in the next book.

I Am Loving This Series

This series just gets better and better. We are finding out little bits of paranormal lore and meeting such fascinating monsters. I especially enjoy the trouble Julie and Taylor get into which causes grief for the Captain. Now I am off to read the next book on the series.

Great series, exciting and very entertaining!!!!

Congratulations to Renee Jagger and Michael Anderle for this intriguing series. It’s extremely hard to find such interesting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in their stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book.

3.5 Stars This series really shines with the friend groups/side characters. The found family element is great. The world building overall is interesting and well done. We also get some good action. It is a quick read too. There is no romance building other than on a very elemental level, which does make it read much younger.

Love the book, hate the cliffhanger!!

UGH! ANOTHER CLIFFHANGER!! SERIOUSLY!! Abrupt one too. No warning just hello long fall!! I am so glad the next book is out! But, I'd be ready to read it WITHOUT the continuous cliffhangers!!

I would recommend this book for almost anyone. There's no intimacy but there's minor language and violence.

Job security

Team building by chasing bad guys. The author takes us on quite the journey as the "human " gets acquainted with the paranormal. It's a riot to say the least, throw in the zany mother & a sweet elder landlady with stories to tell and you'll be giggling throughout.

Very good plot

When I decided to read this story, I wasn't sure I like it, but it surprised me. Excellent character development, and story line. I can see this story going several directions, all of which would be good. I look forward to book 2.

Ok so the YA part of the book rears its head. Questionable decisions, ignoring good sense for the misguided illusion of invincibility becomes evident. I can't wait for these three protagonist to grow up! Maybe in the next book!?

Great fun

What we all wished life was instead of what it is! Junior Box does need to grow up, at close to 50 he is like an adolescent!
Maybe later will get the werefox. Maybe the werewolves and 1st recruit will meet!

It's definitely an interesting series . Answers the question "are they among us"? The books have entertaining story lines and the flow is almost seamless. Well worth the time and effort to read.

Fun Read

Looking for a book about a human who is accidently recruited into a position in the para-normal association? One that's so funny even the scary parts make you laugh

Then, I recommend that you read this book, but read the previous one first. It's good, too!
