One Winter Night #1

A Wicked Winter’s Kiss

Rate this book
A swoony holiday romance between a young woman who lost her way and a handsome woodsman with a hidden identity.
The only life Natari knows is one of dark deeds. As a pilot she uses her airship to smuggle illegal goods across the known world.
What she truly desires is freedom from her shady employer. When she’s caught double-dealing, her airship is sabotaged, and she crashes in a frozen tundra.
With her cargo destroyed and her ship severely damaged, her only hope of survival is the help of a deliciously handsome woodsman: Eldon.
Eldon is surprisingly tender and intensely romantic, spoiling her with delectable desserts, cozy fireside evenings, adventures in the snow and fervent kisses.
Despite her visceral attraction to Eldon, Natari can’t shake the suspicion there’s more to him than meets the eye. Believing he’s too good to be true, she determines to discover his secret while rebuilding her airship.
But something wicked lurks in the wood, a growing evil seeking to ruin winter’s magic. As revelations bring clarity, Natari must make a choice. Will she stay and fight or flee back to the world she knows?
A Wicked Winter’s Kiss is a fairytale of new love and winter magic, set in an industrial-era inspired fantasy world with steampunk flair. Prepare to be swept away to a winter wonderland where dreams come true, magic is real, and the key to unlocking any cold heart is love.

A super fun, cozy winter romance! 4.5 stars and one I’ll definitely return to and read again next winter. A steam-punk Santa origin story - who would have ever guessed that we needed something like this but OMG I’m so glad the author knew we did. There’s spice in this one for sure, but it’s not overly graphic and doesn’t take away from the plot of the story.

"Don't judge or limit yourself or think of the technicalities. "

I'm not a huge fan of steam punk style stories. Everyone of them that I have read so far was boring or had no plot. This one was a lovely mix of the steampunk with fantasy with romance. It was so beautiful. Not only is the cover stunning, but the story itself is too. The story, while slow, is so magical. I couldn't put it down because I wanted to keep reading. I didn't even want to stop to cook dinner, but I had to. I love Natari and Eldon. They are so amazing, each in their own way. I love that grew between them was sweet and instant, but yet so well developed. Natari grew to trust and love, and Eldon grew to open up and trust as well. The story was a perfect December holiday read. It had all the magical elements I wanted with the cozy romance feel.

Do you enjoy cozy winter stories? How about those filled with Holiday and Santa Clause Vibes? Where magic is real and science abounds? Filled with a lost and struggling heroine just trying to escape the horrible pieces of her life and a handsome hero with the duty to fulfill the wishes of others all the while yearning and dreaming of companionship and love? Then there is the yummy foods, creature companions, airships, giving, mystery and enough spice to make your temperature rise and in desperate need of a cold shower?

Have I enticed you yet?

A Wicked Winters Kiss is the Sweet and Cozy but Extremely Spicy Holiday story you need to binge this holiday (and repeat every holiday) season!

Natari has found herself in a freezing situation. After her smuggling job goes sideways she finds herself tied up and crashed in the bitter northern wilds. Lucky for her she has been rescued by the handsome, compassionate and mysterious Eldon who makes her knees week but just has to be too good to be true. And Eldon…well…Eldon has wished for love and companionship. His duty in good and fulfilling but he feels lonely and yearns for a family. But mysteriousness and dangers abound and Natari and Eldon must discover the truths and trust each other to save and protect those wishes they hold in their hearts.

There is holiday magic, lots and lots of sweetness, enough spice to keep you ablaze on cold winters nights, and a lovely and refreshing coziness vibe woven throughout to keep you content and satisfied the whole story through.

I honestly couldn’t love Eldon anymore! He was written just perfectly! He was sweet and compassionate and protective—all the while embracing Natari and all her rough edges—and he was just the perfect combination of swoony and masculine and I couldn’t help but fall in love with him from the very first time he was written onto the pages.

So yep! This book is perfect! I very highly recommend to all those who love a cozy romantasy filled with sweetness and spice, mystery, good food and drink, and the perfect holiday and winter vibes woven throughout!

This was such a cozy read and I loved getting to explore Polaris alongside Natari. Perfect read for when the weather's absolutely dreadful and you need to cozy up with a fuzzy blanket and a cup of hot cocoa. While we got to unravel Eldon's secrets and the story of the "winter king," I couldn't help but wonder about his brothers. Very excited to see what comes next, especially after reading the author note!

Truly a tale of cozy vibes and lighthearted fun.

A delightfully sweet and cozy winter romance. This book quickly grew on me. After reading the first chapter, I couldn’t put it down! It gave me major ‘how Santa met Mrs. Claus’ vibes with a lightly steampunk vibe. The sweet romance is the main component with some delicate fantasy world building that will definitely give you all the warm and fuzzy feels.

My first book by this author and I loved it.

I had ALL the frozen North Pole, cozy, spice feels while reading and will absolutely read the other brothers' stories.

***end spoiler warning***

My one "huh?" moment was when she used moonstones to broker a new deal with the trolls. Were we supposed to know that she had moonstones? Where was she hiding them all that time?

Perfect for a cute, short, Christmas fairy tale read! Some of the romance was a little over the top for me, I can handle some “mushiness”, but this was a little over done for me. Other than that, it was great!

A good, cozy, quick Christmas fantasy read. ✨️ I like the book, but the ending was predictable, and the main conflict was too easily solved.

This was the perfect Yule/Christmas/winter cozy fantasy romance. Yup, that is a mouthful, but it is the truth. I absolutely loved that our female main character was such a strong woman. I will admit I might have rolled my eyes a little and was slightly disheartened when she was a less than she had been. However, the atmosphere was on point! It was everything you could possibly want from a winter romance. I found that it was a quick and enjoyable read with more spice than I anticipated.

I definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a more mature santa figure, you want a holiday read with spice, or are just looking for a nice romance read with a happy ending. 💚
