First of all I was surprised there were Treasure Troll books for even though I grew up in the decades where almost everyone had a Treasure Troll it was just the dolls or the small troll figures. And the story being from Stephen Cosgrove somehow I am not surprised :)
The story introduced you to Hodge Podge where the unicornish sequins live alongside the greedy Treasure Trolls. The Treasure Trolls are greedy and selfish in taking all the lands so they can grow their crops, build their homes and have firework while not caring about the rest of the animals that have to live in the land (sounds like something familiar right?).
Finally the sequins find that they cannot survive anymore on the land they have been driven to and one young bold creature name Tinkling makes her way down an old path that ends up at the farm of some a family of Treasure Trolls. Finding the place is abundant with food she invites the herd and they come to fill their hungry bellies but that ends up causing even more problems with the angry Treasure Trolls. So what is the solution?
This is a beautiful story that can relate to the times that we live in and is a wonderful wake-up call to our own actions. The only reason why I rate it a 3 though is for the solution that they come up with in the end for it doesn't seem the best answer even though it works.
