Two picture books captured my imagination like no others, because they made the reader look at picture books as visual puzzles: "Hello Sam" and "Round Trip." Sam is such a friendly robot in a garden, just as this book is a very approachable way to play with information processing, or at least filtering, which is a bit like the punch card computer programming that it uses for aesthetic inspiration. Who knows, maybe Sam put the idea in my head to become a game programmer.
