Pretty good. Made me want to read his upcoming novel, LONGSHOT.

A really impressive short that bodes well for the forthcoming novel, Longshot.
The stories of Cadians post-Rift that BL have been publishing are perhaps the most compelling narrative to emerge in the Nihilus era, and whilst this doesn’t really break any new ground in terms of their mindset, it is a really well-written and entertaining story of a mission behind enemy lines.

A cool if inconsequential prequel.
Throughout LONGSHOT, Rob Young references a mission that made Darya Nevic into the legendary "Ghost". A mission she despises as she was the only survivor. This is that story.
A quicker, though high-stakes, read than his novel, this short story still benefits from Young's style of fast action and fascinating characters. If you loved Longshot you'll love this.
That said, the ending is very abrupt so we never see her earn that nickname or any of the consequences of the mission's success. Finally this is not required reading for Longshot, But I did enjoy spending more time in Darya's head.
