Zebulon, a Civil War soldier, has wandered the streets of Richmond, Virginia since his death looking for true love. Abigail Willis, because of a familial trait, is able to see Zebulon once she reaches menopause. Although everyone else thinks she's crazy, she falls in love with him which causes her to lose her job and many of her friends.
Very interesting premise however, it felt 'stilted' in areas so making the read hard to merge with. My love of all things historical-colonial-east-coast kept me reading to the end. I'm a native Marylander. The characters were strong and believable, as was the historical accuracy (with needed liberties to create the fictional story).
