Amos thinks he's gotten away from it all, heading off to the wilderness after the wild life in the city leads him right into an early retirement. Dave thinks he's gotten over Amos, moving on with his life and driving himself to success at all costs. They've gone their separate ways, and think they're happy with what they've made of their lives. So what happens when these two meet up on Dave's long overdue vacation, forced on him by his personal assistant? Sparks fly, that's what, and the two of them set about learning that maybe they hadn't gotten over each other as well as they thought. Moving from the rugged Colorado mountains to the bright lights of the big city and back again, Stress Relief follows Dave and Amos as they learn that they can balance two very different lives as long as they're willing to compromise a little. And with these two hard headed guys? That's quite a balancing act. Sexy, fast-paced and full of love and life, Stress Relief has it all. Danger, pain, separation and reconciliation. BA Tortuga is the author of Rain and Whiskey, Racing the Moon and Timeless Hunger.
Texan to the bone and an unrepentant Daddy's Girl, BA Tortuga spends her days with her hounds and her beloved wife, texting her grandbabies, and eating Mexican food. When she's not doing that, she's writing. She spends her days off watching rodeo, knitting, and surfing Pinterest in the name of research. Following their own personal joys, BA and Julia heard the call of the high desert and they now live in the New Mexico mountains. BA's personal saviors include her wife, her best friends, and coffee. Lots of coffee. Really good coffee.
Having written everything from fist-fighting rednecks to cowboy daddies to werewolves, BA does her damnedest to tell the stories of her heart, which is committed to giving everyone their happily ever after. With books ranging from hard-hitting BDSM, to fiery passions, to the most traditional of love stories, BA refuses to be pigeon-holed by anyone but the voices in her head.
This book didn't quite hold my attention - I kept picking it up and putting it down between other books. There just wasn't enough plot to support the pages of repetitive sex.
Ms. Tortuga says in the intro that this is a very early book of theirs. Which was apparent in the angst these two had, the excessive number of sex scenes (I know, I can’t believe I am complaining about this either.) and too many exclamation! Marks! The two men were so effusive in the words and sex that I found it tiring. The bones of the story are good, and I can see hints of the writer Ms. Tortuga has become.
If the foreword didn't mention it, I think I might have known this was earlier work. At any rate, where I usually find found family and an ensemble cast, it was really just the two characters and lots, lots, lots of sex. Even I found myself glazing over after a while with that. I'll stick with the most recent decade or so.
I have previously read and enjoyed stories by B A Tortuga. Unfortunately I found this book to be pitiful!! I gave up reading at the 30% mark! I am a keen reader of MM stories and enjoy the sexual side of those stories. This book seems to be 75% sex with lots of "Love" and "Baby" when the two MC's are at it again! A total imbalance!
Amos and Dave where a thing in the past but due to a health scare Amos escapes and leaves Dave to carryon the high pressured life. However fate steps in and Dave who needs time out in a bad bad bad way goes on a vacation in the wild. Guess who is his guide. YEAH Amos. The two men, still madly in love have a second chance at making it work or not. read it and find out.
So very good! So much stress, but also so much love. So glad these made it back to each other. They are better together than apart. LOTS of stress relief.
