The young man had been stretched out on the trail from Briar City, bleeding badly and stripped of his horse and all his belongings, when old Ruff Tonner rescued him and took him to his cabin to recover. He regained consciousness but not his memory and, at the suggestion of the old-timer, took the name of a dead man and pretended to be his grandson, while he searched for his true identity . . . only to find that all the signs pointed to him being the notorious outlaw, the Cheyenne Kid!
