I know Henry is like 17. But still I don’t like the thought of 17 being the oldest and being in a hunting cabin for a week. But it’s for the kids. I don’t have to like it.

2. Summary: When an unexpected snowstorm arrives, the Alden kids are forced to take shelter in the log cabin that they are staying at during their vacation. They become suspicious after finding a secret message scratched into a wood closet door. Readers are taken along on the adventure as the gang tries to find the answer to the clue.
3. Critique
a. Format of text and images
b. This mystery novel is a wonderful addition to the Boxcar Children series. The organization of words and pictures come together nicely to convey the story.
c. For example, each page contains multiple pictures that are framed neatly. The conversations between the characters are written in dialogue clouds making it easy it follow the story.
4. Curriculum Connection: Graphic novels such as this one are great supplements to the curriculum. This book can be used during a literature lesson that teaches students about elements of a story such as characters, plot, and theme.

The snowbound mystery in comic book form. The full book story was flimsy at best. Didn't make sense for it to be a graphic novel.
