COMBINATORIAL PROBLEMS AND EXERCISES.

Rate this book
From dust Combinatorics is one of the fastest-growing fields of mathematics. This is reflected by its application in many fields (like computer science and operations research) but also by the fact that the methods of combinatorics are becoming more complex, and several other mathematical disciplines are applied in it. Thus, for the solution of combinatorial problems, no matter how elementarily they are formulated, ingenuity in itself will no longer a thorough knowledge of the technical machinery of combinatorics is needed. The aim of the book is to introduce part of the methods of combinatorics for those who want to apply these methods in the solution of practical and technical problems. This is achieved by showing various tricks and techniques through exercises and exercise series. The solutions of these series lead to some of the most important results in combinatorics. In a separate part, a hint is given to the solution of each problem, and a third part contains all solutions in detail. There is also a dictionary containing the definitions of the combinatorial notions occurring in the book.
