Although Kelly and her sister Jayne had known Joshua Brett for much of their lives, they had not actually seen him for some years. But now Jayne was in disgrace because of her involvement with yet another man, and as the girls' unofficial 'guardian', Joshua had summarily ordered her to come to Washington so that he could keep an eye on her.

An arrangement that did not suit Jayne at all - so Kelly pretended to be her sister and went off in her place. But Joshua was a man to be reckoned with. What sort of punishment would he inflict when, inevitably, he discovered how Kelly was deceiving him?

A formulaic tale of two sisters where the older one is the slut and the younger one is the protective yet jeolous one. While I've read this pattern within a story a couple times before, the story is a bit twisted coz they have a young step-mother who also happens to be H's first love -she marries Hs boss - who is the girls' father. It happens that the alpha and womanising H is appointed guardian of the two sisters upon the death of their father along with the step mother . However, I had mainly two problems with this story : a-both girls were adults and H had no right to dictate or control them when the story opens, b- the age difference. between the MCs. H seems a creep who cant control himself I mean i know it has been normal for large age differences in older harlequin s but i didnt like it in this one, i saw shades of paedophilia. A good looking guy would get away with it i guess. The heroine is forced to stay with H in washington where he intends to play father but becomes a lecher instead. She is 19 years old while H is over 30. nonetheless, a little travelogue of Washington, some steamy scenes, fiery interchanges between the leads, and a final confession were ok enough.
