A dark, horrifying story of supernatural revenge and romance. Based on the mysterious collection of Celtic stories known as the Mabinogion but set in a modern day hill farming community.
I am a sucker for stories about Celtic pagan mythology, especially brought into the present day, and even more especially containing murder! So, I couldn’t wait to get my teeth into this – a book promising plenty of all the above.
We open as a mysterious stranger named Kerry Taliesin – named after the Celtic poet, subject of many legends himself, including that he was the bard in the court of King Arthur, and who also wrote in Middle Welsh (more popular than you might give it credit for, this language) – arrives in a remote farming community in Wales to take over his aunt’s farm after her death.
