Nelle McFather is Nelle Strickland's pen name.
She taught English and Developmental Studies at South Georgia from 1991-1995. She Earned her B.A. at Agnes Scott College and a M.A. at Longwood College. She published a number of books under the name Nelle McFather. At one time, this was her married name. But, after her divorce she continued to use it as a pen name since it was familiar to her fans.

Upon re-reading, I feel embarrassed that I loved this book so well the first time around. At the same time, I distinctly remember being a little cringe-y about the dialog the first time around, as well, so I guess that makes it a little better? Ultimately, I just feel like the overall premise was a great idea, and I love the plotline still, but there was quite a bit of fail in the dialog and some of the characterizations.

I enjoyed the majority of the book when it was in the past. Not so much the beginning or the end.

One annoyance I had was that, when characters were having thoughts, they said them out loud - to themselves! Yes, I sometimes I mutter out loud but this was really jarring.

Back in the 90's, time travel books became a rage (a fad, whatever) and some authors (like Eugenia Riley) had a real talent for them, while others (like this one) definitely do NOT!
