I'm not sure whether the uniqueness of this series has just worn off on me after having read the first two books a while back or whether this book was just lacking. I suspect the latter. I'm more inclined to say there was something missing in this story.
Lyon is the third book in Elizabeth Amber's erotic/historical/paranormal series called The Lords of Satyr which is about three half-human/half-satyr males who are charged with finding three half-faerie women, marrying them and therefore offering there protection. I would recommend reading the books in order, but that's just my opinion.
In Lyon, the last remaining Satyr brother (Lyon) is now off in search of his bride-to-be. He's traveled to Paris in order to find her and on his first night there he encounters a mermaid-like female who he at first believes is the one he is searching for. He mates with her but in the middle he scents another faerie and is instantly drawn. He later searches the woman out and finds Juliette Rabelais, a supposed courtesan under the protection of a guardian.
Juliette is not what she appears to be. She is being forced to play a part by a manipulative, evil man who knows her secrets - that she has mystical powers. He forces her to use them for his benefit and when he sees Lyon's interest in her, orders her to get information about the Satyr wine business from him. But Juliette is drawn to Lyon just as he is her. Still, she can't let down her guard or the fears she's had for so long. Then things change and Juliette runs off with Lyon and submits herself to his sexual advances, and for the first time ever is able to release the passions inside her. But challenges lay ahead and the two must make it through in order to be together.
It's always a bit of a turn-off for me when a book starts off with either the hero or the heroine hooking up with someone else...which is what Lyon does early in this book. It's not like he was cheating on Juliette or anything; he didn't even know her yet. Doesn't mean it's not a turn off. So that made the beginning of the book a bit blah for me.
Aside from that, I thought this book was rather slow to progress. Juliette and Lyon hardly spend any real time together and dance around each other for like 2/3rds of the book. The don't "get together" till closer to the end. Which, for an erotic romance, is more than a little boring. Sure, there were still erotic overtones, but the actual sex was rather bland. The first two books were so erotic, very high on the kink-factor scale and this one everything sexual seemed so glossed over. It didn't fit with the series. The sex aspect is such a big part of the stories and the way it was treated in this one just didn't fit.
Even the romance was rather flat. There was chemistry and a connection between Lyon and Juliette but the romantic angle came off a bit insignificant. I wasn't particularly feeling the love between them. I didn't have any fluffy bunny feelings when I finished the book. So on the romance scale, it could have been better.
I also thought the storyline was kinda flat as well. The other books' plots tied into the danger from the Elseworlds and people wanting their secrets and all that, but there wasn't much of that in this book. The "plot" seemed very separate and hardly took advantage of the series' history at all. It gave the book a rather disconnected feel. Plus, though there is a fourth book in this series (and maybe more to come?) these first three are the originals, about the three brothers who have to go find three previously unknown about daughters of the dying king of the Elseworlds. Yet upon finishing this third one, about the last brother, there is no sense of closure to all the events and issues that started the series. Which is another way this book felt rather disconnected from the series aspect.
So yeah, all in all, Lyon came up short for me. And after having written my review, I don't think it's the series' uniqueness that had worn off, but more that this book was lacking. I expected more out of it. Still, if you've been reading the series it's probably one you'll want to read anyway.

Lyon is the third installment in The Lords of Satyr series by Elizabeth Amber. While this book is one in a series, it can easily be a stand-alone book. But beware; it will make you want to read the prior books immediately. It is that addicting!
In this book we return to the lush and exotic world of the Satyrs. These men exude an unparalleled sexuality that heats up the pages and made me run for water!
Lyon is a Satyr on a mission to find his Faerie wife. While searching in Paris , he finds his prize, the irresistible Juliette Rabelais. Juliette is a courtesan and a renowned cook; both sensuous pastimes he plans to help her explore. As they discover their attraction to each other, people from their past scheme to keep them apart.
This was a wonderful read. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I can’t believe the heroine did not succumb to Lyon earlier in the book! Lyon is so HOT! Juliette has been misled in matters of the heart before, but I still can’t understand how she was able to resist Lyon for so long!
This is a novel that is both sumptuous and highly erotic. It was also interesting because it explores the Faerie world and reveals new mythical characters. (Which I hope are explored more thoroughly in the next book!) Those who love the paranormal or just looking for something different and like their books spicy will find this book a rare treat to savor long after the last page is done!

Elizabeth Amber seems to be growing as a writer for each book is an improvement on the last, at least structuraly. After thinking that Nicholas seemed to suddenly stop, Both this and Raine shows a much more fluid way of storytelling.
I really liked this book, though I didn't feel the same compassion for the two leads as I did with Raine and Jordan. I was still glad that they got their HEA and I liked some of the more paranormal elements to the story.
What was excellent were the very hot sex scenes and this book really shows Ambers talent of making the most mundan and innocent things highly erotic. One major scene for me was Lyon weaving a tale about a painting in the room of the bordello, where Juliete stayed. That had me reaching for a fan it was so hot!!!
I don't want to spoil things but one other scene was pretty cleverly done and put a whole new spin on a menage toi (MY french sucks so sorry if this is spelt wrong)
Anyway, These books are my guilty pleasure and I can't wait to keep reading them.

Well if your looking for different paranormal, this series is for you. Lyon the third of the Satyr brothers goes in search of his wife. Along the way mischief and mayhem abound along with a lot of sexual encounters. These men are not for the faint hearted but I loved them all the same, especially Lyon, the hotest, most sexiest of the brothers, whose connection to the land and animals makes him distinct. I also loved his HEA.
These books are richly told. Hope you enjoy them also. Now onto Dominic..

I read this a decade ago and my mindset has changed. I didn't enjoy some of the plot threads as I did in the past. I am leaving the rating as the one I gave it during the initial read.

Lyon must find the last of the dead King's daughter and protect and marry her. She doesn't know what she is but she is being controlled by an evil man that wants to her to steal Lyon's secrets. Throw in a nereid that wants Lyon for her own protection. All with lots of sex, in a variety of forms and partners.

In Tuscany, three half-satyr brothers rule and nurture the vines of Bacchus, god of wine, until a letter arrives commanding them to marry the three half-fae daughters of the dying fae king. Lyon, the youngest and most magnificent specimen of the three, takes off to Paris to find his intended. He's not too happy about it, either, though he will do his duty. When he catches the scent of Juliette, however, his realizes his task may be less about duty and more about desire than he'd ever dreamed.
With a strong sense of history, a bit of artistic license, and a deep well of erotic abandon, Elizabeth Amber has penned a unique, romantic, and sexually delightful series, taking risks and daring to touch on the forbidden with an open minded ode to the freedoms of heart and body blended with a gift for story telling. I've continually been impressed with the originality of the mythos and raw sensuality of the characters as Amber has drawn us along and spun out the lives of Nicholas, Raine, and now Lyon.
Unfortunately, Lyon's story did not live up to the promise of the earlier two books, much to my disappointment.
I will say that I've enjoyed how Amber has managed to broaden the mythos of this series and with each book deepen the historical flavor with a realistic blight on the vines of Europe that has been a plot thread through the series. I also credit her flawless ability to pen erotic scenes that are hot, graphic, and intense, yet not so explicit that they seem out of touch with the rest of the narrative. Also with each book, I've noticed Amber giving more attention to creating story around the two lead characters, and none more so than she did in Lyon.
In that regard, I've stumbled upon the double-edged sword, because that is where my issues with the book begin. In relation to the plot, I felt there was too much time and attention given to Juliette's situation and her life independent of Lyon and not nearly enough time developing any sort of chemistry or bond between the two of them. There was plenty of opportunity given on their two week trip from Paris to Tuscany, yet the author chose to skip over that trip completely after the first day. And everything that followed while they were in Tuscany read more like a rushed and condensed synopsis than actual developing events, leaving me feeling short changed, especially as to the closing of the circle of the quest for the three daughters that comprised the epilogue.
It wasn't just the plot that caused me problems, though, and in fact, that wasn't even the most troublesome. Two simple facts were an even bigger issue: I didn't like how Lyon was portrayed and I couldn't stand Juliette. The sensitive animal lover and fun younger brother we met previously in the first two books was absent in this incarnation of Lyon, and instead he seemed a rather simpleminded man-whore with no further ambition than to get his dangly bits polished, one female interchangeable with another and largely unmoved by it all. Juliette was a weak, laudanum-addicted, petrified victim that wouldn't recognize a backbone if it were an ingredient in one of her lauded recipes. I found her at turns tiresome and annoying. She only ever showed any spirit when she was giving Lyon a hard time, but given the rest of her character, I never bought that she'd actually do so, so that seemed out of place. And how she handled the first Calling once they were in Tuscany (details withheld to prevent spoilers) frustrated and puzzled me.
I could go on, actually, as there was more that befuddled and disappointed me, but when I think back on the whole of the book, I think I could've even forgiven the last if not for the one issue that outshines all the rest. There was not one point through the entire book that I ever got the feeling that Lyon and Juliette loved one another. Not once. Not even when Lyon was saying it did I believe it. There was nothing about love for Juliette in his actions with Sibela, that's for sure, and I was very disappointed with that storyline in particular. Admittedly, it didn't help that the idea of love wasn't even included in the book until the last chapter or two, but there was just nothing between Lyon and Juliette that spoke of anything beyond lust and attraction for the entire story. And I'm sorry, but for me, the book just doesn't work without it. I will be continuing the series because of my appreciation for Nicholas' and Raine's books, but had Lyon's book been the end of The Lords of Satyr, I would've been quite unhappy.

Lyon: The Lords of Satyr is the third book in this series – and one I’ve been long awaiting. I have loved this series from the first book – Nicholas, and Elizabeth Amber has never failed to disappoint. Each book can stand on its own and each has its own amazing plot and characters. You really won’t believe it until you read them.
Lyon is the youngest of the three brothers and probably fighting the need to marry the most. He’s enjoyed his life style and doesn’t think he can ever be tied down to one woman. Still he searches for her and couldn’t be more surprised to find her in a brothel, especially after thinking he had already found the woman to be his wife – or rather mermaid.
Juliette is not your normal courtesan in more ways than one. She has the ability to weave spells. Always worried about what she is capable of she tries to hide her talents, but not before evil is brought in to her life by way of an absinthe addicted guardian.
Lyon and Juliette had more ups and downs than an elevator on their road searching for their happily ever after. If you’re already a fan of the series you won’t be disappointed with Lyon. It is entertaining and enthralling. If you’re new to the Lords of Satyr Series I guarantee you’ll want to back and read the previous two novels.
Underlying all of these stories is the need to find a cure for a rampant virus which is attacking grape vines all over Europe. The Satyr brothers are working on a cure but who knows if it will be in time. But in order to do this they need their full strength and their half-faerie wives.
Lyon is dashing, handsome and sexy beyond believe. Juliette is heart warming, sad and strong ad the same time. Truly needing to overcome adversity Juliette probably has the furthest to go to attain happiness in her life and I enjoyed every step of the way.
Lyon: The Lords of Satyr is not one to be missed. Whether this is your first introduction to Elizabeth Amber’s stories or you’re a die hard fan you will love this story. Filled with smoldering passion, suspense, and enough twists to tie you up in knots, this is summer reading at its pinnacle.

The Lords of Satyr...OMG!! Talking with other lovers of erotica, I have found that this is a series you either love or hate. I happen to be on the LOVE side, but then again, it's hard to not love a man that can double your pleasure all by himself ;)

The brother's have been sent on a quest by the King of the Fae to seek out his daughters, wed and protect them from harm. Lyon & Juliette's story is hawt, and has a bit of a twist that I honestly didn't foresee. The sex in this book is steam up your glasses hot!! Again, not for everyone. I will continue the journey with these Lords of Satyr...dare you to join me...

If you are looking for hot and steamy paranormal romance, look no further...
WHAT I LIKED:
Amber has a great way of making the ordinary extraordinary. She spins tales that have a great potential to be complex and alluring outside of the sexy stuff. Her books hold a lot of potential in terms of being able to create suspense and an exploration of different ideals and types of people.
You can actually read all of these books independently, there's no fear of missing anything in any of the books.

I wasn't sure if I like this book better than Raine. Although it did have more erotic scenes involved. But the story plot was better in Raine. But overall this was a great story.
Lyon is the youngest Brother out to find his bride in Paris. When he smells Fae blood he follows his nose and gets right to work but after letting his lust overtake his nose smells Fae blood over his shoulder stronger this time and realizes his mistake. He takes off after the Fae believing he is now on the right track. But he doesn't realize that he has made some promises to the first Fae, he is in a pickle (I would say). When locating Juliet she is living as a culinary wonder and under the protection of a evil man as his ward. How is Lyon to make any progress with the beautiful Juliet by the full moon tomorrow night?

Brother Lyon isn't the brightest male, is he? He's so easily seduced and taken advantage of by mere women. This story was a little disturbing in it's incestuous sickness. Once all the truths about Juliette and Elise are revealed, I threw up in my mouth a little bit. This book rounds out the three brothers finding the wives they have been tasked to find. The spare sister was a surprise and I'm not sure where it's going. She seems like a sexual assault victim. I hope the next book is with her. This story was just a 3 star because I liked Lyon but the sex didn't do it as much for me. It wasn't anything as depraved as his brother Raine. Eh. I'm still kind of hooked on this series because the men do have two cocks every moon calling. Basically, once a month, women get double penetration, how can you beat that?

Lyon has been my favorite of the Satyr brothers since his introduction in NICHOLAS, and getting to know him better in his own installment of the series was a real treat.
However, I found the relationship between him and the heroine to be a bit frustrating... it felt like he was literally a "lion in a cage," which was disappointing to me... I wanted him to shine is all of his enormous, alpha-male goodness, and I felt like the plot kept him from that.
Still, I read through this quickly, because it was enjoyable. Like NICHOLAS, if I could give LYON 3.5 stars, that would be my rating.

This is the third book in the Lords of Satyr book and I'm not sure of what I think of it. There were moments where the story lagged--too heavy with unnecessary words. Other times I found myself wanting more.
Overall, I'm glad I read this book but I'm left with a dash of sadness that it did not meet my expectations.

My Thoughts:
Imagine finding your true love/soul mate with just one scent. One word. One look and you knew. But the problem was, you were already bedding someone else... Yea... sucks!
Lyon shows up in Paris basically wanting to get the search for his bride over with... Really... being told that he had to secure a wife for the purpose of protection was not top on his agenda. He also never thought of himself as a one woman man! The reason Lyon is reluctant about this, is he believes that he will never find a woman to love. He wants a woman or many women to bed. Lyon is the randiest of the brothers and that carnal nature will get him into a tight spot.
He finds a "faerie blend" woman, Sibela and assumes that is his bride.... well... she is not what she seems to be.... Quite the opposite, but what Lyon does not know is that he will be tied to this woman whether he likes it or not.
Then he finds Juliette... or rather hears her voice, and smells her. Remember, faerie blend's have a special scent to them. So, he leaves Sibela to "hunt" for Juliette ~ even before he is finished.. ummm... having relations with Sibela. he seeks her out and when he catches up to Juliette, he realizes she resides at a brothel. That does not deter him from seeking her out. But she had a job to do... to bed him, not with sensual delight but with culinary delight. To seek out information from him out the pox virus and how the Satyr's kept their vineyards in good health. Her guardian and boss, Singore Valmont wants the information for his own benefit
In this books, the twists are sharper and the turns will be harder. Without giving to much (because you know I don't) this story is riveting. You will become spellbound. The web Ms. Amber's weaves in this one is awesome. This story is about... Family... Lyon's brothers need him to secure a wife to proceed with the protection of King Feydon daughters and to grant his last wish... Family... Juliette thought she was an orphan; left by her mother at the Hospice des Enfants Trouves (The Hospital of Found Children). She wanted to leave behind the life she was living now... until she finds out the truth of her heritage... This is a story of finding family and love. This is an emotional family/love story. And I promsie you, each chapter will suck you in deeper and deeper... but by chapter 8... you will be SUCKED in!!!

He can bend the Will of others and control their thoughts. What was good about him controlling thoughts and bending Wills is that where ever he went, he was sure to draw an entourage of women. Juliette chose these words to describe Lyon, "One who chose his own path and was confident enough not to bow too deeply to the whims of style.... For a man so large, he moved with sleek grace... A man who can laugh at himself - a rare animal."

But she has other powers that make her to valuable for the owner let her go. She is also accused of murder when she was young. So, by hiding out (so to speak in the house) she can live free. She considered herself to be a coward of sorts. Juliette is just dealing with what life dealt her. And for that, I feel for her and remember the era we are in... women were not allowed to defy men or speak up or be bold...
Sibela: She is a Nereid. Equal part sea-faerie and she-devil. She is just as her title would imply... she is a she-devil!!! Actully, in the beginning, I called her a b*tch; but towards the end of the story, she actually redeems herself by doing something for someone else.
She is looking for protection from the Elseworld and Lyon is the perfect man to give it to her. She knows that he comes to Paris seeking a wife... and if she can bind him to her (by getting her with child), then she will have his protection.
Every story needs a b*itch in and this comes complete with one! Even a nasty villan who gets his just desserts!!! **yup, I am evil**
Now a few things I will include: This story will leave your inner hussy very satisfied. In fact, you WILL be purring and possibly panting very loudly!! The love scenes in this book are amzaingly hot, passionate, sexy, erotic and completely off the charts!! SMUT... ohhhh HELLLLLL yeah!!!! This book did not leave me displeased at all... the opposite is true, I was very pleased with book so much, I consumed it about a day! The book's pace was great, it kept me turning the pages so fast that I got a couple of papercuts from turning the pages and caught some of the pages on fire, becuase I was turning so fast, lol!!! There was never a moment where I knew what was going to happen; the twists and turns in this book is more than in any other books!! It was an awesome book!!!! I hope to have left you intigured enough to want these brothers in your TBR pile!!

This books moves the stort foward but I didn't like the lack on connection to Lyon and Juilette. Her story with her sister and the brothel and Sibhal were way more interesting then anything with Lyon. I felt like the story dragged but didn't give enough backstory at the same time. This completes the brothers and the Arc of the wine. Interested to see how the series goes forward.

I didn't enjoy this book as much as Raine's. The H was boring, sick a lot due to his sexual needs, which ends up with him having a child with h's sister, but the sister leaves baby with H to raise. Even though this is erotica, the H was made to be weak and the h was weak too, so I just didn't much like any if it. .

This is a great story- I enjoyed it more than the other two. Lyon and Juliet have an interesting and eventful time, with a mystery too. But read this after Nicholas and Raine’s books. Well done Elizabeth Amber!
