If loved the "disaster" films, like Airport and Towering Inferno, this is for you. I really like the genre and would like to try his other books.

There is something fascinating about this book as a historical document, coming out as it did a year before Ronald Reagan fired the air traffic controllers. For better and worse, the author did a lot of research and makes sure to put all of it down on the page. I learned way more about the design process for the Concorde that I ever thought I would. At the same time, the book reads a lot like an unauthorized sequel to Arthur Haley‘s “Airport”, again for better and worse. I generally like more disaster in my disaster books, but as a vintage airport thriller, it’s fine.
