Describes what fossils tell us about the characteristics and behavior of the brachiosaurus, looks at their habitat, and shares a virtual reality adventure in the world of dinosaurs
I’m cleaning out my bookcase and I wanted to give a proper burial to a few books that have been with me for over 20 years across several countries.
Out of all the dinosaur books I had as a kid, this one was among my favorites. Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Tyrannosaurus and Deinonychus were the tetrad of books that had the most dinosaurs, the most pictures and, surprisingly, also the most educational texts.
At the end of every book, there was a different story about a sister and a brother who used a virtual reality rig built by their father to immerse themselves in a dinosaur simulator, complete with moral qualms about letting weaker members of the herd die so the rest could survive, or having to attack defenseless herbivores. Considering they were published in 1994, they were well ahead of their time.
