Freezha has been given to the Beasts by her father so he could have the Beasts as security. Most of her story is in the first book Wild Within. She finally has the required 4 Beasts to choose from and chooses Vyur, a lizard beast, who has been her self-defense instructor and she's had a crush on. In this book, it days before the mating and since she's a virgin and they'll be having sex in from of 19 men while Vyur is in Beast form, she asks him to show her his Beast and to have sex with her now. He mentions some extras that come with mating a Lizard Beast.
Freezha is a great character, as screamy happy and although a virgin she definitely is excited and has ideas on what she wants. I'm liking this series.

So this was a challenge book for odd shifters. The entire thing was odd. I never read book 1 so I was a little confused at times but I don't think I'll be reading more regardless. I'm still a little fuzzy as to what type of shifter this was about. I'm guessing lizard of some kind?

Do not try to read this book if you haven't read the first one first. That was my mistake and therefore perhaps this book doesn't deserve a 1-star rating. However, I've read series books out of order without having problems before. Not so with this one.
I was not able to get beyond five chapters because the book, the characters, the world, made absolutely no sense to me. I don't like reading series books where each one lays out the premise again and again and again ad nauseum. And that's why I gave it a few chapters to see if this book would make any sense to me. It did not, hence the 1 star because a book I can't even finish (when I force myself to finish my books) truly does deserve a 1 star, imo.

I should have read my own reviews to the other two books in the series. Unfortunately I only remembered something of the first book. I can't even blame someone else...
A dumb barbie heroine in a story made only by sex. Way beyond boring, it's killing any pleasure. No plot, no tension at all. Why the hell go all the way to create a potentially interesting world, full to the brim of conflict, and then ignore it?

I'm a big fan of Mima. I find all her work to be well written and full of emotion, as well as great, creative sex scenes. If you want a short read that will still give you a nice connection to the characters and some hot love scenes. This is a great choice.

I read this years ago and was stunned by how hot the story was with a lizard hero, no less!
