I loved (and read) this book so much as a child that it literally fell apart and Mum had to replace it. She laminated some of the pages of the fallen-apart copy and decorated my bedroom with it. The illustrations are so appealing and the slightly bohemian share house of bears have a wry humour to them.
This is another one I was able to lure my son into loving along with me. We had great fun collecting as many of the Bears series as we could through scouring secondhand bookstores.
I was just looking through my old collection of books when I stumbled upon this little gem. I remember this story being read to me, aged 5, whenever I'd visit my grandma and eventually, she passed it on to me.
This brought back so many fond memories. It's such a simple, sweet little tail and for some reason, I am completely drawn to the illustrations.
A children's classic! How could I give it less than 5 stars?
