The book has some great quotes in it and has quite a number of patient stories about their struggle with food and eating disorders which I found a valuable learning experience. The book was quite American in places and I struggled with some of the thoughts and approaches. I read upto the end of Chapter 5 and then stopped as it started to talk about "Reclaiming the Spiritual Self". I then just dipped in and out of the remaining chapters. This is a self-help book and I think it would be helpful for those who are suffering with a problem with food and weight and would keep their attention but as I was reading it from the perspective of learning more about eating disorders for my work, my interest just wasn't held towards the end of the book. I struggled with what to rate this book - I couldn't decide between two stars or three stars but in the end I have given it three stars as I did like some of the book and stuck lots of post-it notes to pages for me to go back and re-read at a latter date.

A well written book to help women see themselves as more than their weight. A very nurturing and caring voice to the reader. I liked it because while the book is directed to those with eating disorders, the concepts can be applied to other struggles one might be having in life.

I've read too many of these at once, I think, because they all sort of seemed to blend together in the end.
