With the Fullgood Initiative dismantled and Cicely Calhoun behind bars, a fight is brewing over who will fill the void and attempt a global coup—and Titus Black and the Phoenix Foundation team must stop it before it starts.
From the ashes of the Fullgood Initiative, an unlikely leader has arisen from within an ancient European power to fill the void. While he has enjoyed operating in the shadows, one mistake jeopardizes his entire operation, placing him in the crosshairs of the U.S.’s most relentless black ops team.
As Black and Shields navigate geopolitical landmines, secret societies, and the underbelly of European bureaucracy, they must uncover the identity of the man behind a quiet movement and exhaust every avenue to stop a looming threat to democracy and freedom the world over.

THE FIRST SIGNS that I might like writing -- and that I might be slightly competitive -- appeared when my year two (or first grade) teacher, Mrs. Holland, asked my class to write and illustrate our day. Mine read like this: “The Red team beat the Blue team, 1 to nil. And I won.” The next 47 entries covered my exploits on the soccer pitch while growing up in Ipswich, England.
In South Carolina as a teenager, my dad told me that I could get paid to watch sports provided I could write about it. Sounded easy enough and by the time I was 16, I landed a job at my town’s daily newspaper and had a column on Major League Baseball players from our area. I also covered my first riot there at a sporting event -- and it’s safe to say I was smitten with journalism.
After graduating from one of the best journalism schools in the country, I took a job as a sports editor in South Georgia and learned firsthand about the passion of high school sports in rural America. I thought I knew before, but I didn’t. This was another world.
I also had the opportunity to cover major sporting events like the Olympic Games, the World Series, the Super Bowl, and the Final Four. It was a thrill!
But nothing was as thrilling to me as uncovering the truth in investigative assignments. I once broke a story about a prominent southern football team’s NCAA violation -- and found out the violating coach had committed suicide only a few months earlier. The story won a national writing award and stoked my desire to write about these issues. It made me realize that the sports world was just another fantastic backdrop for drama.
After writing non-fiction books with athletes, for athletes, and ghost writing for many others, I decided to enter the world of fiction writing. It had been something I wanted to do but never found the time. So, I made the time--and had a blast in the process.
I’m not out to become the next Faulkner or Hemingway -- I’m just out to tell a good story. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them!
Phoenix goes on the offensive against the remains of the Fullgood Initiative. House of Cards, the latest installment in the Titus Black series, is a fast-paced action-packed rollercoaster ride that involves all the Phoenix foundation. Along with Black & Shields globetrotting to hunt down potential Fullgood members, Edge plays an integral part in his interactions with Cecly Calhoun to learn about members of the Fullgood Initiative. Lastly, Block gets caught up in a situation with no one to rely on except himself and Jana Shadid renews contact with an old friend to help Black & Shields. Mr. Paterson ability to keep all these balls in the air and moving proves him to be a master juggler with this story. If you are a Titus Black fan, this is a must read, if you are new to or considering this series you might be best served to go back to the first book and start there.
A message to decode and a trip to plan. Missions for the Phoenix Foundation are never boring. This one was to climb a mountain where the person they had questions for The characters we love to read more about and how they complete the task. The good flowing stories are one we look forward to reading. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
Black and Shields return to save the world again. With Calhoun in jail, worries still kept coming. They get into impossible situations and manage to get out of them in unbelievable ways.
Another great Titus Black to keep you intrigued. Black and Shields together try to save the world. There’s danger, fast paced action that have you wondering what will happen next. Great characters. Well written as always.
Can you trust a deviant woman wanting to controlthe world?
A fast paced story taking in the depravity of leaders in this world. Power is their final achievement. What can anyone do where so many countries leaders are involved?
An excellent story. Black and shields God after mancini to find out what the folgoods inthitive long range plans are. While doing the they realize that things are not as they appear.
I've gotten so used to the wrong words being used, and even character names confused, that I automatically correct them in my mind as I read but since when is The Parthenon in Rome, Italy! Pages 223 and 228 of the Kindle edition. Good thing I like the story lines.
This was another intense, complex, suspenseful, and intriguing story with many unexpected and surprising twists. Not a series to be missed. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
A top-notch action thriller with a well written storyline and strong realistic characters. Black and Shields are once again trying to save the world. The action is fast in this high suspense story. A real page turner that I highly recommend. A fantastic book and series by a very talented author. Bring on the next adventure with Black and Shield.
Just as the previous 13 Titus Black books, House of Cards has enough action to become a TV movie. It is also filled with thought-provoking current issues to satisfy informed citizens. Both Titus and his partner Christina Shields are appealing co-protagonists.
