I love ghosts. I live in the Highlands in Louisville and have 3 spirits here in the house who play with the cats.

Considering Patti is one of my favorite people in the world, I would never give this a bad review. However, even if she wasn't, I still would. The woman has had some awesome experiences and I'm proud to have been a part of some and hear first hand some others. Remarkable lady.

I bought this book, it wasn't an early reviewer copy (didn't realize it was a LT Early Reviewer alum til I went to put in the review), I was really amazed that they didn't get all the grammar errors before it went to print and put in the bookstores. That was oddly distracting.

A lot of the information provided was about other people's experiences, with some ghost hunting information. The ghost hunting information provided some of which is very different from what is given by other ghost hunters, such as orbs being spirits which has been primarily discredited by other researchers (usually dust, artifacts, etc), and doing hunts in broad daylight.

Very odd, I'm really not sure how to feel about this book. I'm not sure who the target audience is.

Skeptical

Interesting. Folk stories abound. The last part talks about a priest and his daughter in Owensboro. Priest do not marry and don’t legitimately have children. The photos are pretty hokey.

I would like to thank the author for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Doing so does not sway my review in any way.

Do you like to sit around a campfire and tell ghost stories? Have you ever wondered if there was any truth to the stories that you heard? This book is full of such stories, interviews and investigations to back up what the author is putting out there. You will find some, well, cute, and others will have you wanting to leave the lights on when you go to bed.

As far back as I can remember, I loved anything to do with ghosts. There was Casper, whose comic books I devoured and who I dressed up once for Halloween as. There were books with pictures of apparitions that had me so intrigued that I read the same book over and over. There was an episode in my childhood, which I truly believe was me being visited by my brother, who died before I was born. It was so vivid and in ways is still that way today, that I can't see how it was a dream, because surely I would have forgotten about it by now. Present day, we have the TV shows Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventurers and Paranormal State which have brought credibility to the idea of ghosts aka spirits of the dead. Now I will be following the trail of Patti Starr to see what she's experiencing.

The book itself is story after story of different places in Kentucky that either she or numerous people close to her have experience ghostly occurrences at. Now with that, I don't mean that they always saw a ghost, but they either came away with EVP's, pictures or events that really made them feel that what they were experiencing was the paranormal. I was really hyped when she talked about a haunting near a college where my oldest daughter had seriously considered attending before deciding to join the military instead. When she gets home off of leave, I'm going to make sure she reads that part.

Now, my biggest disappointment was the investigation at Bobby Mackey's Music World. This place is like the rock star of the USA hauntings. Some scary, crazy things have happened at this place throughout the history of the place. Unfortunately, the author barely touches on it and for what she calls an investigation, I consider just an interview. If you aren't going to put out a full fledged investigation on this site, I wouldn't start off the book with it. Other issues I had with the book were what I considered fluff filling and writing from what she could remember and than going back and filling in the blanks, without rereading what she had put down to begin with. Fluff filling is pretty self-explanatory, putting things in to make the story longer but nobody really giving a hoot about it to begin with.

Ms. Starr has some great stories she shares with the reader, and they all caught my attention. Who doesn't like to read about a haunted hospital? They are some of the best hauntings out there! Haunted theatres...even Billy Ray Cyrus knew how to please one of these ghosts. Covered Bridges...hangings, car accidents, etc., throughout the history of the structure. She just pounds them out, one after another and good luck keeping up.

This is a book for all ghost lovers out there, no matter how young or old you are. There's something for everyone. You will not put this book down without at least one story sticking to you and repeating in your thoughts. I'm going to check out more on Patti Starr and further books on ghost hunting stories from other states, and with warmer weather on its way, I'm thinking of checking out some more ghost tours. I do recommend the Asbury Park, NJ ghost tours, we went as a family and were blown away.

Very informational, for starters seeing as we were going to KY for my birthday this year to do a couple of the things in the book. We were going to go to Bobby Mackey's but it was too far away to do that from where we were going to be. So instead we went to Buffalo Trace, The Old Talbert Tavern, The Jailer's Inn, and a old cemetery that isn't listed in the book. For anyone that lives in KY or is planning on going anytime soon and is really into ghost hunting it's called Kasey's Cemetery. It's out in the middle of no where outside of Elizabethtown. So I read it before we went to remember some things about the places we would be going. We went to the Old Talbert Tavern for dinner and it was also part of the Ghost Walk that Patti Starr does herself. It's really fun by the way. And it also includes The Jailer's Inn and the cemetery behind the Inn. God- I sound like an advertisement. Anyways. The book was really good, as was the places we went that were in the book.
The only thing though about it,is that if you don't live in KY you probably wont be able to find it in book stores. So if your interested in it or reading about it to go check out the places it might be best to look on Amazon or some other site that sells books instead of going to a actual book store.

Ghosthunting Kentucky is packed full of haunts and ghost galore. I myself am a huge fan of ghost hunting! I would love to tour some of these stops myself someday. I really enjoyed learning some of the history behind the hauntings. Some of the stops really had me wondering if it was truly haunted or just tricks of the mind and others left me with chills and goosebumps wanting to know more about the history behind it. If you are into ghost and the paranormal with a sslight history lesson well than this is the book for you! Grab a copy sit back and enjoy try not to get to frightened by what maybe lurking in the shadows. I know I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more!

Ghosthunting, Kentucky was a wonderful book about the adventures that Patti has in Kentucky. She did a really good job at describing what was happening during her ghost hunting sessions, as well as telling us the setting of the place before she went in.

I really enjoyed learning about all these places and about the different things that happened in each place. I liked how the book was formatted, as in each chapter is a different place, and they were nice and short too. I have to give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

I would recommend reading this book while camping!

Picked this up and Barnes & Noble this weekend. My chances of completing it are very good. I've met the author. I know about most of the places in the book and, it's just that time of year.
