Tee Morris began his writing career with his 2002 historical epic fantasy, MOREVI The Chronicles of Rafe & Askana. In 2005 Tee took MOREVI into the then-unknown podosphere, making his novel the first book podcast in its entirety. That experience led to the founding of Podiobooks.com and collaborating with Evo Terra and Chuck Tomasi on Podcasting for Dummies and its follow-up, Expert Podcasting Practices for Dummies. He won acclaim and accolades for his cross-genre fantasy-detective Billibub Baddings Mysteries, the podcast of The Case of the Singing Sword winning him the 2008 Parsec Award for Best Audio Drama. Along with those titles, Tee has written articles and short stories for BenBella Books’s Farscape Forever: Sex, Drugs, and Killer Muppets, the podcast anthology VOICES: New Media Fiction, BenBella Books’ So Say We All: Collected Thoughts and Opinions of Battlestar Galactica, and Dragon Moon Press’ Podthology: The Pod Complex.
In 2011, Tee returned to his first love—fiction—with the steampunk romp Phoenix Rising: A Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences Novel, co-authored with Philippa Ballantine. This debut novel from Harper Voyager won the 2011 Airship Award for Best Steampunk Literature. Now the series includes The Janus Affair (Harper Voyager), Dawn's Early Light (Ace Books), and the Ministry Protocol anthology (Imagine That! Studios). When he is not writing, Tee enjoys life in Virginia alongside Philippa Ballantine, his daughter, and three cats.
Twitter is all the rage. It seems to be the new Facebook. Everywhere you see people madly creating 140 character (or less) messages on their Blackberries.
I have to admit that I have been rather hesitant about Twitter. I keep getting images in my mind about receiving messages about what someone had for breakfast or that they were going to the washroom. I know for a fact, I don’t have that kind of time to waste.
However, after reading All A Twitter, I’m beginning to see that Twitter has far more potential. Yes, there are going to be people just wasting time on Twitter but there are also people who really have something interesting to say. The key is discernment, both in writing tweets and in who you choose to follow.
If you want to know what all the fuss is about twitter, then this book is for you. If you want to get started on twitter and don't know how, then this book is for you. If you are new to twitter, and want to know how to enjoy it more, then this book is for you. If you've been on twitter for quite some time and want to know about applications, such as tweeter decks, that could make your time on twitter more productive then this book is for you. If you are sick of relatives or friends asking you what's twitter then this books for you, and them.
Buy the book, join twitter, join the global conversation follow me at http://twitter.com/uniquecomunica and perhaps I'll see you there
A quick reading of this book told me that I have no need for or interest in Twitter at this point. I understand that companies and famous people use twitter to let their customers and fans know what they are about. My life at any point in the day is quiet and enjoyable. But not all that interesting to others.
I've always liked the way Tee writes technical review- with humour, familiarity and with ease. This is the kind of book that walks you through all the minefields you might not think of in social media.
well i am trying to understand this new communication, became really interested when it fascillitated the Iranian rebellion....i am intrigued and will finish and maybe even try it. good writing so far and even I can understand.
Brilliant "how to" on Twitter. Written simply and entertainingly, leading the reader from beginner to advanced. If everyone read this Twitter book I am sure the membership and engagement in Twitter would double overnight globally:-)
Good for people with little to no clue about Twitter or social media. The book was heavily focused on third party applications, only half of which still exist. That's the problem with books about technology and social media though, it changes at such a pace that authors can't keep up.
Overview of Twitter. Mostly a review of different third-party apps that help you work within the confines of Twitter. Valuable for those looking to get a comparison of apps.
