First, Write Now isn’t a book but more like an article one would expect to find in a magazine like Poets and Writers, Writer’s Digest or Writing Magazine. Francine Saint Marie packed these 34 pages with solid advice that every aspiring writer needs to know. For me, it was a trip down memory lane because most of the things she talks about in this “BOOK” are all things that I had to learn through trial and error when the urge to write overpowered me way back in the 1970s. of course we didn’t have e-books and web publishing back then, all we had was traditional publishing. Today, the aspiring author has so many more options when it comes to breaking into “print,” I found this little book an enjoyable read.
Good, solid, no-nonsense advice to get you back on track. The information she providesis nothing new, bit a good refresher to authors.
"As you're already aware by now, writing is a craft, a discipline, and you've probably also heard that you should undertake to do it everyday. I'm not going to contradict this because it is essentially the truth—the more you write, the better you become at it. But, for some writers, even the most prolific ones, writing on a daily basis can prove to be a daunting task. And, since writing is such a solitary activity, there's no one else on earth that can make us do it. Here are a few useful tools and some simple tricks that I rely on to keep myself focused and motivated everyday."

This was a free kindle book I perused when browsing writing books. For the price, it's a short, matter of fact guide designed to help people get started writing on a novel, but I'll admit it doesn't really go beyond basic, common-sense tips. I think it's helpful for those who want just general, point blank advice on getting started, but it really doesn't delve much into some of the aspects of an MS or the writing process to help flesh out a story, so I can't say it worked for me.
This book is like a motivational poster, it reminds you to tell the story, in your own voice, and fix the parts that aren't good. There's a bit more to it than that, but it's more of a reminder to learn, write, take notes, write, and edit thoroughly. Very short, very concise.
Had a less than positive feeling about a guide where the description is in all caps but it is free right now. Serves me right if it isn't worth my time.
I found this book completely useless. There was nothing in here that I didn't know already, no new insight. If I could give it less than one star I would.
I'm proud to say that this book helped me get myself started again. She gave great tips and it was wonderful advice and things that I wanted to actually write down and print out.
