About the author

Sophia was born in Morgan's Pass, Clarendon, Jamaica and immigrated with her family to Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1974. She attended Claude Watson School for the Arts and studied dance, art and drama. She then went to the University of Toronto where she graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology. She lives in Brampton, Ontario with her husband, Scott Henderson, and young daughters, Sierra and Naima.

In 2003, Sophia was accepted by Sha-Shana Crichton of Crichton and Associates Literary Agents. In early 2004, she signed her first book deal with Kensington Publishing/Dafina. She is currently working on her ninth novel.

Nice even-tempo romance centered around a young couple establishing boundaries for relationships. Monique played the fool for a married man and left in the aftermath decides she will seek only casual sex. Tao Samuels and she have several things in common...they play basketball on the same team, share the same friend, Gary, and are both single and attracted to one another. With all of these positive factors, surely a promising equation can be surmised, right? What happens when rational thinking, raging hormones, misconceptions, and past hurts all meet at a crossroads? Does love stand a chance when being pulled in two different directions? This was a smooth read, no crashing waves or serenading sirens, just a pleasant and complete novel. I will look for more of Ms. Shaw's reads in the future. Rules and regulations...love and happiness...trial and error...

Don't wait to long to reveal your true feelings. This wasn't as predictable as I thought, Shaw had some twist in there.
