Book #1: A non-fiction book

Well, this was informative. And kind of funny. And ridiculous at times. Loved the expert tips on not suffocating people by pressing on their Adam's apples.

Ich habe das Buch auf Deutsch gelesen.

Es ist ein aufschlussreicher Ratgeber in allen Bereichen die das Thema betrifft. Geeky geschrieben, was es lustig und kurzweilig macht. Für einige sicherlich zu geeky.
Es ist ein gutes Nachschlagewerk, wenn man was neues ausprobieren will oder einfach nur Infos(auch zum Führen und Erhalten einer Beziehung) haben möchte.

Co se týká obsahu a stylu psaní, bylo by spíš na hvězdy dvě, ale líbí se mi ten nápad udělat příručku o sexu jako klasický manuál... hlavně pro ajťáky.
Nic moc nového se člověk nedozví (až na výjimiky) a začátek byl docela dost nudný, ale aspoň se to lehce čte a má to spoustu obrázků :D

Początkowo wydawała mi się strasznie żenująca. Potem jakoś szybciej mi się czytało, może dlatego że przy likierze. :p
Było kilka zabawnych momentów, kilka ciekawostek, kilka błędów, więcej niż kilka oczywistości - ogólnie nic specjalnego i na pewno bym nie kupiła.

This was such a hilarious read. Not much new, but written in such a way it made me laugh aloud all along the book.

And of course this happens to be my 500th read book, hurraa. XD

The format of the book is creative and unique and I’d say it’s decently approachable (I’m biased, though). It’s also pretty easy to read, other than the fact that it’s intentionally written in a technical style. I deducted two stars - one because to me it was problematic to not clearly cite sources and the other because it felt like it was endorsing date rape.

I realize this was published in 2009, so before the #metoo movement, but I had to place a hold on the book so people are still reading it. If there is an updated version in the cards, there needs to be much clearer discussion of consent and rape prevention.

Finally a manual, I wish I had this twenty years ago! Written with humour instead of dryness. I’m sure there’s a fact or two that will be new to anyone and it never hurts to refamiliarize yourself with this stuff.
