CD Collection 2: Second Sight, The River Knows, The Third Circle

Rate this book
Second Sight:
Venetia Milton thought her stay at the remote, ramshackle Arcane House would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to engineer her own ravishment. She was there to photograph the relics and artifacts collected by a highly secretive organization. And her employer, Mr. Gabriel Jones, had the eyes of a sorcerer… Venetia is shattered when, shortly after their night together, she reads of Jones’s death in the papers. As a private tribute, she adopts the name “Mrs. Jones”. But her romantic whim causes unexpected trouble. Mr. Jones is about to stride, living and breathing, back into her life.

The River Knows:
The first kiss occurred in a dimly lit hallway on the upper floor of Elwin Hastings’s grand house. Louisa never saw it coming. . . . Of course, Anthony Stalbridge couldn’t possibly have had romantic intentions. The kiss was an act of desperation, meant to distract the armed guard who was about to catch the pair in a place they most definitely did not belong.

Third Circle:
Leona Hewitt has secretly made her way into Lord Delbridge’s private museum to recover a relic stolen from her family years ago. But someone else is there in the dimly lit gallery, on the same errand: a tall, black-cloaked man whose very voice is enough to put her in a trance. Thaddeus Ware, a mesmerist with powerful psychic energy, is accustomed to fearful reactions from others. But Leona shows no trace of hysteria in his presence. She exerts a rather hypnotic power over the hypnotist himself.

I have second sight as a book of one not a collection! Years ago I read from this author and somehow lost touch but she is amazing!
Venetia is a strong, extremely stubborn intelligent woman! She had a father that led a secret life this had devastating repercussions for her and two siblings! They reside with an aunt and Venetia photography is their sole means of support. When she received an advance pay to photograph ancient relics at the Arcane Society she could not pass that up!
Upon meeting Gabriel she notices his strong aura and takes one night of passion interrupted by thieves!
These two are so heated it fogs your glasses!
Events lead up to Gabriel faking his death until a newspaper article causes him to resurrect into Venetia life and her very lucrative career using the Jones name . Gabriel has secrets lots of them and when someone wants him dead well he knows this will have very negative affects on his “widow” and her family!
Venetia got on my nerves more than a few times not seeming to understand her use of his name meant that what affected him (duh) affects the entire household!
Just when things get interesting someone else is murdered and Venetia could be blamed?
Gabriel won’t let that happen he told her the first night she was his! The killer is desperate so plans for a HEA Mean they both need to be alive to see it!!!
