Top matchmaker and owner of Manhattan’s primo hook-up service, Dead End Dating—and one scorching hot vampire herself—Lil Marchette knows a little something about happily ever afterlife. But the bat hits the fan when she wakes up in the Las Vegas Mayan Resort and Casino hung-over and hitched to an old friend (and fellow night-lifer) who is NOT her bounty-hunting steady Ty Bonner.
Lil swipes some of the casino’s security tapes to shed light on the evening’s hazy events, but what she finds can make a vamp’s blood run even colder. Instead of her trip to the altar, the tapes reveal explosive footage of a poker game gone horribly wrong—a game which could launch an all-out war between the bloodsuckers and their werewolf brethren. Suddenly Lil finds herself catapulted into the middle of a hit man’s twisted scheme. But can this diva of the undead avert an epic battle, outrun a killer, and undo her “I do” before all hell breaks loose?
Librarian's note: This book was cancelled by the publisher and will not be published with Ballantine. However, the author is self-publishing a Kindle edition: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18...
From the author: "Hi everyone, I am so sorry the release dates on this book keep getting moved. It has been a battle to get to the point where we can do this ourselves. I was hoping that another publisher would pick up the book, and there has been a chance of that, but I know fans are tired of waiting and shopping it around involves a lot more time. I've decided that I am going to do it myself because I know everyone is tired of waiting. I am tired of waiting to. Talked with my agent and we are going to release the book in November, 2013. A new cover should be up soon and the book will be available for pre-order. I will let everyone know when the new cover is up. Again, I thank you all so much for your patience and understanding. This sort of situation is very sticky because I didn't actually own rights to that last book and so I've had to sit on it. And sit on it. And sit on it. I know that's hard to understand, but it's the reality. My hands were tied. I hope you can understand and find it in your hearts to give Lil a chance in November. If the book does well, we are going to continue the series and just self pub it ourselves."
I've always been an incurable romantic. While I enjoy reading all types of fiction, my favorites, the books that touch my soul, are romance novels. From sexy to thrilling, sweet to humorous, I like them all. But what I really love is writing romance--the hotter the better!
I started my first novel back in high school and have been writing ever since. To date, I've published over thirty novels, one of them a prestigious RITA Award nominee, Romance Writers of America's highest award of excellence. I have also been nominated by Romantic Times magazine for several Reviewer's Choice awards, as well as a career achievement award.
I've written for several different publishers, including Harlequin Books, Leisure Books, Berkley/Jove, St. Martin's Press and Warner Books. Born and bred in the Lone Start State, I still live deep in the heart with my real-life hero, Curt, and our young children.
Like any over-worked, under-appreciated wife and mother, I have very little free time. But when I find a few precious moments, I LOVE to read. Some of my favorite authors include Janet Evanovich, Vicki Lewis Thompson, Charlaine Harris (see my Favorite Reads page for more) and the exceptionally talented Nina Bangs. Give me a bag of Sugar Babies, a Toby Keith or Kevin Fowler CD (I love Texas music), and a great book, and I'm in heaven!
I finished this book at 11:27 pm on New Year's Eve. Guess it was the last craptastic book I read in 2019. Gosh, it was awful. Lil gets drunk and accidentally marries (or "commits to") Remy. I can see her mother standing by and letting it happen, but her friends did nothing! They know she doesn't want Remy, but they don't step up and say "you're drunk and can't do this". They even pretend to be so happy for her. Does no one actually know her? And, of course, Ty is missing from 99% of the book, as usual. Every book in this series ended in a big suck fest (and I don't mean vamp-wise). The dramatic part is always resolved in the most lame way possible with no real danger. It always leaves me feeling like I've skipped a few chapters. I guess this is the last book of the series, but nothing much is resolved. Lil wants kids, but will never have them with a made vamp (could there be a way? No darn idea!). Poor Evie doesn't know that Lil is a vamp. A random ghost now works with them in the body of a gay security guard that they STOLE...but it's OK, because he was going to kill himself anyway. Sweet Esther is absent. After her kidnapping and torture in book 5, I wanted her to get her HEA. Nope. Don't know what the babies of Lil's sisters-in-law are. Don't know if her mother ever accepts her half human grandchild. Don't know if she finds a wife for Ash, a companion for the lonely widower, a date for the cat lady, etc. It just freaking ends. What a waste of time. Why on earth did the author send her characters off on all those random tangents if she wasn't going to actually wrap any of them up???

I really wanted to love this book since I was so very happy it was finally being released after being delayed for something like three years. I loved this series and always felt 'cheated' that we never had a conclusion. Well yeah for Kimberly Raye who came through with releasing "Here Comes the Vampire"! I really believe that she did everything in her power to finally get this book to us and I thoroughly applaud her for that. It was extremely nice to see old friends again...everyone from Lil and Dead End Dating to her true vampire love Ty, and her crazy family. Unfortunately I had a problem with the plot involving Lil seeing a crime and being in danger for her life. It was wrapped up super quickly and had a bit of a twist that seemed to come out of nowhere. That said, the plot involving Lil planning her wedding was quite funny and over the top which pretty much is the Lil I remember. Also it looks like this is NOT the final installment of the Dead End Dating series. Right now, although slightly disappointed by this one, I do believe I would still be willing to buy it. The digital price on this is really reasonable.
I liked how this one's plot was way different than the other books. I felt that the whole Riley thing ended too anticlimatic and the guy coming in to rescue her was just too simple. Also I'm sad I'm done with this series. Goodbye Lil, her shopping addiction and sex fantasy day dreams, Ty, Killer, Evie, and Jaqueline (probably the second best character of the series after Lil). Wow, I read this whole series in less than a week! I would like a book 7, but there's probably no material left for the author to work with because Lil is finally getting married to Ty.
I didn't like how some sentences, even the sex scene, seemed repeated from the other books. Like please, be more original.
3.5yrs. That's how long I've waited (as all of us who love this series did) for this book. After countless letdowns, I nearly gave up on ever getting to see how Lil's story ended. Finally, the release came and I purchased it as soon as I was able. Though it wasn't as great as the others, I'm still pretty happy overall. Spoiler: This book wasn't the end I originally thought it was going to be (yay! What can I say other than I really do love this series?). I just hope it won't take another 3.5yrs to read the next of Lil's adventures! ;)
--Actual rating, 3.75 Skulls Oh Lil, how I've missed thee! Kimberly Raye's DED series was one of the first PNR series I read after discovering this whole new preternatural and yet sexy book world after Twilight, and it still holds as one of my favorite fun reads. I missed wacky Lil and her hijinks, and it was fun to get a little bit more of her again. I can't wait to see her finally get her happily ever after, and thank Kimberly for creating such a great world to get lost in.
What happens when a beautiful entrepreneur, a born vampire (BV), who's in love with a human-turned-vampire, wakes up with a hangover in Vegas and finds she's committed (the equivalent to marriage for vampires) to the BV with whom she's been friends for centuries? She tries to find out, all while continuing to search for love for the clients of her dating service, Dead End Dating.
For the sixth in the series, this book continues to deliver. Can't get enough of Lili Marchette, vampiress to the lonely-hearted, be they human, vampire, werewolf, demon or other.
I’m only dropping this one star than the rest because it isn’t what I wanted to happen LOL it was still a great book and very on brand for all of the books in this series. I need more though. Like will we EVER get to see what I know we all want to see? Here it is 2025, and I don’t see anything about more coming out. 😭 Just one more…. A finale to all the books. Please!?
I'm not really enjoying this series- I think the only reason I've read this far is I was looking for some sort of ending/conclusion. The books don't particularly end of cliffhangers but it just doesn't feel like any of the plot lines ever really get wrapped up or moved forward. Lil doesn't seem to have moved forward much in the whole series, yes her job is more successful but that's about it. While her and Ty are marginally more committed to each other we don't actually see that in this book, they spend perhaps a few hours together in the whole book.
I also don't like the casual sexism or the way that Lil seems to value looks over everything else (whenever she uses her vampy mind control it's always about them doing things for her because she's so hot). Also her dress sense is really dated- I don't think Chanel even make rhinestone tank tops (because they are tacky AF) it's just annoying her going on and on about how fashionable her dress sense is and then describing a terrible terrible outfit.
Like all of you, I've been anxiously waiting for the next chapter of my favorite matchmaker vampire Lil Marchette's life and I have to say, this book was worth the wait!
Seeing that Lil is still up to her old ways made me one happy lipstick-junkie!
The story was fast paced, fun, as sassy as ever, and just the mention of Ty had me squirming in my seat!
Over the years I've enjoyed the entire Dead End Dating Series as some of my favorite go to reads, especially on a day that I need to lose myself in a world full of crazy-fun mystery.
If you haven't had the pleasure of reading the D. E. D. Series I highly recommend you grab a copy immediately and lose yourself in the crazy fun world that Ms. Raye had created.
Dead End Dating is back! For those of you who followed Kimberly Rayes’ Dead End Dating series, the last promised story has finally arrived. The Countess Lil had just woken up hungover in Vegas only to find herself married to Remy Tremaine. Nice guy, but not the love of her life, Ty Bonner! Desperate to prove that she’s not as committed at she might 1st appear, Lil steals video footage from the casino, video that happens to contain evidence of Mafia collusion and murder. Raye picks up the series left in 2009 without a single stumble and delivers a funny, fast-paced jaunt through the marriage that’s dead before it even begins!
Okay excuse me while I do a happy little dance woo hoo ... YES Yes yes yes yes yes yes ......... I was so happy when I saw this book for sale I LOVED the dead end dating series and I was so sad when I head this book was never going to be released I am so happy that the Author found a way for the book to be published after all this book was well worth the long wait and I am so happy the series is going to be on going ... I love it ... HAPPY Happy happy ....... :) I can't wait to see what Lil gets into next ... :)
Amazing series. Can't wait for more Lil books! I recommend it to everybody who wants to have a laugh. There's also some action, some comedy, some drama, some romance and some fashion, you gotta love it.
Lil is terrified she has committed to Remy while she loves Ty. Ms Raye puts Lil in a number of hilarious situations when she tries to find out if the commitment has been consummated. She adds some danger to keep the reader, and Lil on their toes. It is a fast read everyone can enjoy.
I loved this book! Lil is hilarious as vampzilla... I feel bad for Remy but maybe Lil can hook him up with someone in the next book? This has been a fun series so far. I hope the next book is coming out sometime this year???
I was really looking forward to that book, curious to see how the series would end, but after reading a couple of pages, I'm not sure I want to continue...
